Describe your creative process.
Immersion is the first step in my creative process, taking the brief and other reference material and getting beneath the skin of the project.
From here I create sketches and thumbnails that I share with the client. Feedback from the client is crucial at this stage.
We work together to distill these down in to mock-ups/dummies and see how they will work across various media. It's great having a beautiful logo, but what if you audience can't see it on mobile devices or if they are colour blind and can't see certain colours?
I take all of this information and create the final designs which are then submitted for final client sign-off, supplying the client with all files once sign-off is granted.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
We need to agree on exactly what it is they are expecting, do they want a solo logo or a full brand package etc.
Do you need me to work with you in your office or remotely.
We need to agree the deadline.
It's sometimes a bit of an elephant in the room but we need to agree on when and how payment will be made.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the sense of accomplishment when a brief is completed, when an idea evolves into a beautiful piece of well considered design, and the feeling that I have delivered something to my client that they are proud to share.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I worked for a large publisher for over 20 years, working for large clients but almost disappearing into the crowd. Running my own business gives me the opportunity to stand out, work across new areas and to push the boundaries for my clients.
