We feel so blessed to have had Paul as our wedding photographer. He has given us the gift of a lifetime that we will be so happy to enjoy for the years and decades to come. We interviewed a lot of potential photographers and looked at many sample albums, and we felt very confident in our decision to go with Paul. His photographs not only seemed to capture interesting and meaningful moments, but also seemed to be just objectively beautiful photographs. Now, having the experience of the wedding day with him and the photographs he produced, it is so clear that he was the absolute perfect person for the job. We are in absolute awe of the photographs he took. They are the most beautiful set of wedding photographs we have ever seen. They capture the spirit of the day so perfectly, and so many of them are beautiful works of art unto themselves. From the anticipatory feelings of the preparations, to the solemnity of our Jewish wedding ceremony, to the feelings of utter joy at the party. Even his photographs of people dancing are incredibly good and interesting. He also managed to get shots of so many ‘micro-events’… small things that happened during the day that were unplanned but memorable. We had so much fun looking through the gallery as we could not see everything that was happening at the event, but Paul somehow managed to be everywhere at once and see everything. Many photos were delightful surprises (“Oh look so-and-so and so-and-so were chatting!”) and helped us to further appreciate the day. Paul also produced an incredible 17 min slideshow with a subset of the photographs. Watching that slideshow is like watching a movie of that day. We have shared these photos with family and friends who were both at the wedding and not, and everyone is just so impressed. They all tell us that watching this video makes them feel like they were there, which is such a gift as many of our friends and family from the US could not attend the wedding due to the long trip and the pandemic. Part of the joy of that day was also Paul himself. He has an energy to him that is very calming and reassuring. We had absolute confidence in his abilities and that put us at ease throughout the day. Also, he is an absolute ghost! We felt like we barely saw him at the wedding ceremony and the party. We forgot he was even there! It is incredible how he can move around so dexterously and get incredible shots of so many special moments. Paul’s photographs are a gift that we will cherish forever. Paul shot our wedding (some time ago now) - and we were absolutely delighted with the results. Paul was very easy to deal with in the run-up to the wedding, and was extremely helpful in helping us think through what kind of shots we wanted, how to do the group shots, etc. On the day itself, it was great to have him there - he was unobtrusive, personable, very professional - he just became part of the occasion. And, my word, the photographs he took - they were great, and have recorded the day for us. Paul's style, I think, is journalistic, truthful (he uses the word 'reportage', which I think gets it); almost street photography, but in buildings! He took some great shots, capturing candid expressions and great moments. That's not to say that the larger 'set piece' photos were not great, they were too. My wife and I, and indeed all our family and friends, were delighted with the results, and we would not hesitate to recommend Paul to any brides and bridegrooms to be! More...

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Anticipating the moment and being creative in how you tell the story of that moment through the use of light and composition.

Knowing I'm providing couples with something that will always be an emotional and treaasured reminder of one of the happiest days of their lives.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The desire to do photography full-time and steer my own course.
Why should our clients choose you?
For too many photographers, documentary photography seems to be interpreted as just turning up on the day and taking snapshots. I take great pride in my ability to tell a story with a single shot, using creative composition and available light to produce creative images that are not just a record of what was happening but also a piece of art.
I also enjoy spending some time alone with couples on their wedding day to get some environmental portraits of just the two of them. Of course, if that's not required then we can leave it out, but at least you know it's there as an option if it's important to you.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Not the actual photography part (obviously), but meetings and consultations can all happen remotely, and images can be "handed over" digitally.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I will wear a face covering when in attendance at your event and can provide all images via online download if required, thereby eliminating touchpoints.
