My sons aged 4,7 and 8 all attend Tae Kwondo here, with my eldest due to complete his black belt in a few week's time. The classes build fitness, strength, discipline and confidence and teach them skills they can fall back on in later life. After a long sabbatical and even though it’s not a Wednesday I finally made it back to Taekwondo today!! I’d forgotten lots of things, how hard the sessions are, how to break boards, how much it hurts when you don’t and every single pattern I ever learnt! !! I'm so glad I found this place. My daughter now 8 was so shy and withdrawn before starting her lessons and now she is a completely different girl, she is so confident in herself now and finds making friends much easier. My son now 5 has autism and always struggled in social situations but since joining here he has learnt so many skills to cope and even his teachers at school have noticed the difference in him. They both love going and I feel like we have another family at the club, warm, friendly and professional. Brian (4th dan ex UK Team member and former European Champion) who runs the club is a fantastic bloke and great teacher and brings out the best in his students, Tony (3rd dan) Brians Son also takes classes (mainly juniors) and is a fantastic teacher also, if you're thinking about doing Martial Arts , it's the best club in the Wakefield area for young and old.
