Dear Student,
My aim as a violin tutor is to provide you with an inspiring and enjoyable learning experience online. As part of this, I can offer you ongoing support and advice with practice and purchasing equipment. I will aim to provide you with constructive feedback in all my lessons with the aim of encouraging you to have ‘a can do’ attitude towards your learning, as I believe this will be your key to success!

My daughter started violin lessons with Sarah in July as a complete beginner aged 6 and is coming on in leaps and bounds, not only musically but in self confidence. Sarah is an outstanding teacher and really tailors the lesson around the student. She can read my shy and easily distracted daughter so well and knows exactly how to make the lesson fun whilst still keeping her focused. After 26 years of first picking up a violin, I finally took the plunge and booked myself a lesson. I was lucky to have found Sarah as she was local to me.
As an adult learner I was nervous and frequently questioned whether I should be learning such a difficult instrument so late in life. However, after meeting Sarah and having a few classes with her I completely changed my ‘tune’. Sarah was really encouraging and let me learn at my own pace. She also understood how I learnt and tailored the classes to ensure I got the best out of the time with her. I only had 4 face to face classes before we went into lockdown with Covid-19. But Sarah was very accommodating and we continued to have weekly lessons online. This was a god-send as it helped me continue to improve my skills and helped me cope with what was going on. She helped me work through my grade 2 exam which I passed. I couldn’t have done it without her.
Sarah has introduced me to a whole genre of music which I would not have discovered on my own. She has certainly increased my repertoire. By doing this, I have enhanced my technical skills with my violin playing which I feel I wouldn’t have done if I had found another tutor.
Sarah is a fantastic teacher and an asset to the music world.

Sarah has been a fantastic tutor for the past year since I have been taking violin lessons. We smoothly transitioned to online lessons during the first covid-19 lockdown and it's been totally fantastic! She can send music to me straight away. She often sends me sections of music which I am struggling with so I have it on my computer and I can refer to it as many times as I want. The online classes save me time on travelling and I can have my lesson at the comfort of my own home!! I don't think I will be going back to face to face classes because this works so well for my lifestyle. Sarah is an excellent tutor and has helped me pass my exam during the pandemic. My son (8 years old) and I have been taking regular violin lessons with Sarah for nearly a year now.
Sarah is patient and encouraging.
She is also very good at keeping my son on track during the lessons. Her explanation of music theory and technique can be easily understood by both adults and children and her guidance in implementing said technique is invaluable. During our time together, Sarah's teaching has brought us from zero violin experience to learning grade 2 pieces, and grade 3 scales. What do you love most about your job?
Teaching students how to read, introducing new genres and watching them grow into independent players.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Working with children in schools both as a performer in story-telling workshops and working as a teaching assistant in music classes.
I wanted to make violin lessons accessible in my local area to a diverse audience.
Online tuition has become very successful now and I am able to share my skills nationally with students.

I care about my work. I love my job and I let that show in my classes. I aim to inspire all my students to achieve their own potential and to help them meet their targets. My classes are supportive and I encourage a relaxed and focused approach.
My aim is to be accessible and my students know they can ask questions and request advice anytime. Yes my classes are conducted online via Skype my id is Sarah Violin UK. I use whatsapp to send information relating to the music being taught during lessons.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I am online but if I was to do a face to face lesson I would ask all students to wear a masks and sanitize hands.
