Your typical double gazing firm. There have been so many problems over the course of 18 months, I can only share the top highlights. Enjoy!
Full of promises at the beginning (thanks for that Andrew Riddle) and then it all falls apart. First lie was a 6-8 week turnaround. 2 weeks before the expected fit date, i was told it would be in fact 13 weeks! As this was part of a larger project, it delayed the build. Next problem was an incorrect measurement for the 8 meter slide door, my builders had to open up space for ODC but i get a threatening call from Simon (customer care) telling me that I would have to pay approx £2000 extra as he had to send his installation team home because the space wasn’t ready for fitting that day. The problem was at the survey (thanks Elliot), as the space in the wall was already there when measurements were done. So not only did i have to pay for the builders to rectify ODCs mistake, I now had to fight off the snake that is Simon to get out of a £2000 fee for their installers (Which is well overpriced for a 4 man team, another lie). They then botched the installation of 2 bay windows, when eventually I managed to get Operations Director Matt Charge to come to site, he himself described the work as shoddy. I thought that him seeing the problems would help, but it seems ODC have never measured up for or installed a bay window before. They are much better experienced at it now, as they had 5 attempts to rejig, change sills and eventually change the end windows (twice) but alas, still couldn’t seem to understand how to do it. The windows don’t sit properly in the bay and I have spaces in the joints where I could get water ingress. They then blamed the walls and lintel saying they’re not straight but I showed them a photo of the previous window, this was straight. The problem went back to the initial survey (thanks again Elliot), which was wrong. But they assured me during these attempts to rectify that they have remeasured and that it was going to work. But of course, it never did. Also during these 5 attempts, I was now living in the property, and every few weeks/months we would have a hole in the side of the house with damage done to the plasterboard/internal sills and paintwork. I was told they would pay for the internal decorative repairs but of course that was another lie.
I asked them to refund me for the bay windows, they declined.
I made a claim against my credit card company and they have got back £5000, on bay windows that cost me £10,576.04 (and another £23+k on the rest of the job), but I have to order new bay windows which are now being quoted at over £12k. Not to mention the delays, inconvenience and stress this has caused.
These cowboys are not FENSA registered, they tell you they are too big for that (Andrew with that lie), but the reality is it costs them money to be registered and it seems there’s no support if you have issues with a dodgy company like this one without it. More...

I would never recommend or hire this company. They take all your money upfront and then it’s a struggle to get them to do any fitting! There is no customer service even though they advertise themselves as a high end glazing company. It took several months to complete poor quality work and it took many phone calls and emails begging them to come to finish off. They still have not finished as they have installed a full length window and not installed the safety juillet balcony! This is a major health and safety issue especially as we have young children at home. They do not seam to communicate with their fitters or customers. They subcontracted all of our fitting and the fitters unfortunately do not speak English! The fitters are over stretched so instead of doing a full days work they come for half a day or less. It took several half day visits for them to get to this poor quality finish. Would you be happy with this?
They have done several pre site visits and never identified any access issues but now are suddenly saying that their fitter said there were access issues and this is the reason why they could not fit the Juliette balcony ( however they did not have any access issue with the full length floor to ceiling window! ). The fitter did not mention anything about access issues to me when he was there! The truth is they ran out of time so had to give a reason on why they could not fit the window and the balcony in one visit!!
Our project was too be done in two stages as the scaffolding had to be removed so they could install the kitchen bifold doors. They arranged a work schedule for fitting so that they could finish the work that required scaffolding, the scaffolding would then be taken away and they would fit the bifold doors on the ground floor. They failed to notify the scaffolding contractors to not take away the scaffolding as they had not stuck to their schedule. The fitter even instructed me to get the scaffolding company to take away the scaffolding. Something i thought strange at the time but who am I to question the fitters or the arrangements that have been made between ODC and the scaffolding contractors! ODC take no responsibility for their mistakes, lack of communication, actions or anything else. I have paid them upfront so have no worth!The lock on the doors also does not work in a smooth action and is impossible to open and close. They are not an architectural glazing company and have no concept of nor genuine concern for aesthetics- note the light grey felt on anthracite grey frame! More...

The product is classy, the sales pitch slick, the fitters friendly and helpful, but customer (lack of) service a nightmare. The doors quickly have become hard to close threatening security- after only a few months. Quite chilly and inflexible response to request to repair and merciless chasing for a call out fee to be prepaid before they would even put a site visit in the book. An attitude of not really caring. Given how much the product cost this is unacceptable. Waiting now to see if they can resolve the problem in a satisfactory manner and restore confidence. In the meantime my business is suffering.
