Signs that you might need a power flush:


Cold areas on radiators.
Excessive noise from the boiler or the heating system pump.
Discoloured water when you bleed the radiators.
Slow warming of the heating system.
Tap water getting cloudy.
We always recommend having a power flush if you are changing your boiler, particularly if we install a condensing boiler, as contaminants that are present could damage the internal pipe work in your new boiler.

You need to use electricity to power the pump which circulates the liquid in the outside loop, but for every unit of electricity used by the pump, you get between two and three units of heat – making this an efficient way to heat a building.

If you are on Economy 7 electricity tariff, then this can make running costs lower. Also consider solar panels or even wind turbines for green renewable electricity.
