How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
There are certain aspects that need to be assessed before you proceed with your conversion ie: big question do you need planning permission? Check with your local authorities. If not have a professional like (northstar construction) come in and assess your garage to make sure it is structurally sound and suitable for conversion if it is not we can make it so it is.
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
Firstly we check if all planning permission is in order if needed. Then we will sit down with are clients and go through any designs or preferences they may have for the conversion. Then comes assessing the garage to make sure the walls and roof are in good order. Then on to checking the condition of the current floor to see if it needs damp proofing or leveling if everything is good we will move on to bricking up and setting out framing for main door and windows then framing the walls (depending size) running electrics and piping for water ceiling and drywall work will be done next then onto plastering then painting and decorating tiling and flooring this is just a quick break down but all depends on size of project maybe there will be on suits or in some cases we have fited kitchens in a garage conversion which was more of a self contained studio flat hopefully ghis was helpful.

We here at northstar garantee all are work for 10 years and 20 years for roof and extention work but we would never shy away from helping are customers no matter the time scale

Personally i love seeing the finished project and the joy it brings are customers
What inspired you to start your own business?
My family have been in the construction trade for over 5 decades so it was only natural growing up and learning the trade that i would gravitate towards construction.
