Working with Umayr and Northedge Architecture, was how it should be, an Architect staying involved throughout and actively taking charge of the project. In our industry you come across so many architects, who push important decisions onto the builder instead of taking the responsibility they should. We were looking for an Architect for our house extension which is side two storey and partial rear two storey, then we found Umayr, Northedge Architects from the first visit he is meticulous and in constant contact. Provided designs in time as agreed and always available for any queries, infact he made changes to design at later stage as per our request without making hassels. He has given very good ideas during the design which we wouldn't think off. He followed up with council after submitting the planning permission application and approved without any queries. He even come to the site to see how the work is progressing. After a bad experience with a previous surveyor, Umayr took over and understood exactly what we wanted straight away. It only took Umayr three days to draw the plan for the house extension and submit it to the council within the same week. Umayr’s professionalism was outstanding, his responses were immediate and we were kept informed at each stage of the planning process. We initially wanted to convert our loft and requested a free consulted with Umayr about converting our loft however it became apparent during the initial survey that the garage would make a better conversion. Plans for the garage and also for the creation of a third bedroom and ensuite where our old kitchen used to be were drawn within 2-3 days. Umayr then negotiated with the council because we required planning permission. This has led to planning permission being accepted by the council and we are now starting work on making our home suitable for our needs. Throughout the whole process we have found Umayr to be very quick in responding to any questions and we have been kept up to date at each stage of the planning process. We had our architectural drawing done by Northedge Architecture few months ago. It was fantastic and perfectly done in 3D design.
We have been granted for planning permission without any hassle. We were actually turned down by two different Architects previously enquired who both said it would be impossible for us to be granted for permission on this kind of redevelopment (conversion of integral garage into a habitable room). We beg for them to just try. We even expressed our willingness to spend money and don't mind to loss it if in case we won't be granted. But the answer was "no". Me and my husband never gave up. We persuaded to find someone, somewhere and somehow who could help us. Eventually, we met the Architect who travelled from North down to London and gave us the encouragement and made our day ever happy. The Architect himself is professional and very respectful to us as his clients. And most of all, the price is right and worthwhile. Therefore, we would highly recommend Northedge Architecture!
