Steve is a fantastic drum teacher. I started lessons earlier this year, having never played and with absolutely no sense of rhythm. Steve is patient, always enthusiastic, and has excellent communication and motivational skills. He has achieved what I thought was the impossible - he's taught me how play to a beat (in time!), develop a sense of rhythm and feel confident sat at a drum kit! I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone keen to learn to play the drums. More...

Steve is an excellent teacher. My son wasn't loving his drum lessons and was on the verge of giving up so we decided to try a new teacher. Lessons with Steve have been a huge success and he is now back to loving his drumming again. He really looks forward to his lesson each week and has improved dramatically. Steve has encouraged him to learn and play the music he loves and his relaxed yet professional approach is really bringing out the best in his playing. Thank you. More...

Steve is way more than just a drum teacher. He loves what he does and that echoes to his students as well. I appreciated deeply his ability and desire to see through my needs as a drummer. In all honesty, I felt more like a drummer in the making than just a drum student and that is the key to Steve's greatness :) He gave me space, trust and time to develop my connection with drums. He also gave me the freedom to experiment as well as being by my side to make sure I learned everything the right way. Everything ran so organically in all of our lessons. Steve is rad drummer, a true teacher and a great human being! Thank you Steve! More...

I have been having lessons with Steve for almost a month, he has been very professional at all times. I particularly found him responsive to queries, clear on his terms and flexible if lessons need to change due to commitments, his text message reminders about a lesson are also useful to ensure you don't forget. Additionally, Steve has been a great teacher, listening to what I want to achieve and tailoring the content of the lessons to support. Great job and I would recommend him to others. More...

Drum lessons
Learn from an educator who knows how to instill enjoyment, dedication and skill into the student, tailor lessons to meet your individual needs and who believes that enjoyment is absolutely necessary when drumming. These will ensure you progress quickly in your drum lessons and meet your aspirations, whilst having fun.
Steve's breadth of experience means you can: Learn simply for your own pleasure, work on selected musical genres, or consider a more formal approach with Rockschool or Trinity Guildhall syllabus.
Steve is able to tailor his approach to your specific needs. Whether you are a beginner starting out, or an existing drummer of many years, you will gain from Steve’s supportive, flexible and experienced approach to drum lessons.
All of this is supported by Steve’s ongoing commitment to his own development. Steve is not satisfied that he has achieved a performance degree in drumming from the prestigious BIMM London, which involved instruction in drum lessons from the legendary Erik Stams (Walter Schreifles, Butch Thomas, Viola Wills) and Guiseppe Grondona whom has shared the same stage as Eric Clapton, Coolio and Pink. He continues to seek ways to develop, learn and broaden his own experience and is always thrilled to discuss this with an interested student, fueling their own appetite for development and progress. This approach ensures you will learn updated approaches and techniques in your drum lessons, as they emerge.
Steve loves teaching drums and finds it very rewarding when any of his pupils does well. You will receive praise and encouragement when your practice, devotion and commitment produces a drum lesson filled with enjoyment and progress.
