Best place for whatever your cycling goal is! Mine was to be able to cycle London to Paris in 24 hours, and Togo and the team absolutely smashed it out of the park, with training, nutrition and sports motivation.

I joined one of Njinga's 8 week courses as a final part of recuperation from a long term injury and the results were amazing. I achieved an FTP uplift of 33 watts and almost exactly inline with what Togo said would be achievable (well he said 31 watts!). If you go to Njinga's classes, listen to their instructions, follow their guidance (whether it is cycling, physiological or nutritional), do your stretches (perhaps combine with some Yoga) and you will improve rapidly. Togo and his team have created something special in the lab and with the road riding collective, where everyone is encouraged and improves whether they are seasoned cyclists or complete novices. I am looking forward to my next set of classes More...

Having done a couple of triathlons I had always struggled with the bike ride. I searched up Njinga being a Kingston resident and did my first course with co-founder and Head Performance Coach Togo Keynes. Immediately I was hooked. Everybody I met in the class was friendly and approachable and as a cycling novice I felt welcome and supported. Togo and the other instructors are passionate about making you a better cyclist and this is evident in every class. This year I decided to do the Prudential Ride London so needed to get more experience out on the road so I joined the Njinga Collective which rides most weekends. I was pleased to find out that the Collective follows the same Njinga ethic of being inclusive, social and making riding fun. I also signed up for an 8-week Ride London training programme which was also great and again I met a great bunch of people on the course. When I was doing triathlons I struggled with cycling. I can safely say Njinga has helped me discover the awesomeness of cycling. I would recommend wholeheartedly. More...

Cycling is such a science that suddenly the smallest changes make cycling so much easier and you can go further and faster and putting in less effort. I have been coming to classes at Njinga for nearly a year and absolutely love it! I wanted to join the collective and take part in the outdoor rides, but completely lacked the confidence (particularly riding in cleats) Having just completed 2 outdoor sessions focusing on cleats and bike handling skills I am now feeling so much more positive about getting out on my bike! Josh was great - really encouraging and supportive, and we worked at a pace that was challenging yet comfortable. The whole team at Njinga are so welcoming, it is great to be part of a community where there is no judgement, just an eagerness to help and see everyone improve. Like I said, I love it!! More...

This is a fantastic place for cyclists of all abilities and I would highly recommend. I first came across Togo a couple of years ago when my husband (a serious cyclist) booked some outdoor one-to-one sessions for me. My road bike (a present from him a couple of years earlier) had been sitting in the shed unused for a couple of years largely due to the fact I was terrified of using cleats. During my first session with Togo, he made me practice clipping and unclipping until it felt natural. Whilst Togo is relentless, his passion is so encouraging and motivating, and he is totally respectful of the stage you are at. We did a couple more outdoor sessions which included gear changing, climbing and cornering and honestly, just after 3 x 1 hour sessions I felt so much more confident on my bike. I went on to successfully complete a sportif a month later, and not only achieved a great time, I felt happy and confident on my bike. I would really recommend this for anyone who wants to ride outdoors but feels nervous about any aspect of it.Recently, my husband and I completed a pedal technique course at Njinga. This consisted of 4 sessions with Togo really focusing on our technique in detail and then practising what we'd learnt in Njinga classes between sessions. As an amateur cyclist, I naturally had lots of areas of improvement but even my husband (cyclist of 40+ years) found it incredibly helpful. I attended classes run by Josh and Sam who were both excellent in terms of their knowledge and encouragement. I think there is a big difference between a "spin" class at a gym and a session in the lab at Njinga - they're not really comparable. It's true that there's nowhere to hide in an Njinga session (which would normally scare me off!) but everyone (including other class members) is so supportive - Njinga just want you to be the best cyclist you can be and will help you get there. Having entered and completed Ride London, I had caught the cycling bug. I was a little sceptical at first but I decided to bite the bullet and sign up to 3 classes at Njinga Cycling. (First impressions where that Njinga was just for professional cyclists. But it's far from that). The team and all the other riders were extremely welcoming, enthusiastic and helpful when I joined my first class. After 3 classes I was signed up to complete my FTP test, something I never thought I would end up doing. I've gone from being a complete novice to completing two programmes (Fire Starter Programme, and Climb Like a Pro) with Togo and Josh, and seen a huge 33 watts increase in my FTP score in just 8 weeks. But I lacked any goals, anything to aim for and a little motivation! Njinga gave me all of that and more. It not only helped me improve my cycling, my skills, speed and endurance but it also inspired and encouraged me to try racing in Time Trials, team Time Trials and to even try road racing by starting in the Race pen of the Tour of Cambridgeshire. It has provided me with a whole community of new friends, people to ride with and opportunities to enter events with like minded people. The wattbike analysis quickly revealed that my technique was pretty poor, even though I cycle a lot. This was easily fixable and after some practising the better technique has become second nature. In the week after going I improved my average power over 45 mins by about 10% and took 90 seconds off my lap time for Richmond park. My friends talked endlessly about Njinga and the famous Togo while I remained a bit sceptical - partly to do with price. In the end, after seeing their cycling improve no end, I decided to give the Pedal Technique classes a go and swallow the cost. How I wish I had started with Njinga earlier and taken the pedal improver class when I started cycling! Improvements to the way I pedalled (not as hard as it sounds), a range of classes in the week to improve power output, a talk on nutrition and the freshly made protein smoothies led to a marked improvement in my cycling. Togo himself is an incredible motivator. I can honestly say I pushed myself to my limits for him and in response to his encouragement - but not just for him - for the other trainers at Njinga too. They all know how to wring the maximum from each cyclist in the room and Togo knows just how much you are capable of - and it's always above what you expect from yourself. I come away from classes truly exhausted and dripping with sweat but each weekend, out on the bike, my friends say to me 'Wow your cycling has improved!' I could not recommend more highly. Hi All This year I took part in the Marmotte in the French Alps (174km, 5,100m climbing). Throughout the winter I trained at the Njinga lab a couple of mornings per week on Wattbikes. The Mountain Goat sessions were brilliant. They helped get me fitter and stronger and I learned how to manage my efforts. This meant that I could ride at a good intensity knowing what was sustainable. Njinga sessions also give an objective perspective on fitness progress. In the winter when weather is challenging, speed on the road is variable (and often disappointing !!). The Njinga lab meant that I knew I was heading in the right direction while waiting for the sun to come out. The coaches do a nice job with group training - encouraging for less experienced people and pushing those looking to step their cycling onto better levels. In general Njinga has figured out how to mix social and performance (eg Gran Fondo) cycling. I targeted a 7 hour net time. This was ambitious - I didn't really know whether it was possible. To cut a long story short I finished in 6:47, well within my goal which is fantastic. Thanks to Togo, Leigh, Jason, Diego, Jo and Josh. David Finn More...

It was a steep learning curve and the sessions were physically very tough, but my power output has increased significantly, I hit a target I thought was way beyond me and I learnt a lot about pushing myself mentally. I was nervous about joining the programme, but I didn't need to be - Togo, Leigh, Josh and the team made me feel welcome immediately. The coaching and, importantly for me, the support and encouragement is top notch. Aside from feeling stronger in the lab, since starting with Njinga only 8 weeks ago, my pedal technique has improved massively (thanks to a fantastic 1-2-1 session) and I'm much more confident riding out. I’m enjoying cycling more, I've met some lovely people to ride with and really feel part of the Njinga family.
