Q&As

We’ll discuss objectives, deliverables, timelines and budget and most importantly what you want to get out of your brand, your voice and values. I think the most important thing with a client is building a relationship and working closely on all aspect of the brand so we can grow a consistent brand and the relationship together. Research is also key. We’ll look at the target audience, competitors and any benchmark brands, we can then begin thinking about concepts and possible design directions.

I like to discuss as much of the brief personally with my clients as possible... to gain a better understanding of what they want, do they know? Their product, what they offer, other styles/brands they like, if any.

Challenging myself and approaching new projects, I love the initial process of a brief, I pour myself into it... and then seeing it right through to the end to when it signed, sealed and delivered, whichever format that may be. So the whole process!

It was kind of an accident, a happy one! I had been an in-house graphic designer for 13 years, for both agencies and a higher educational college, then I moved away and I was struggling with the travel to work, it was not cost effective. So decided to pursue a hobby of mine, selling retro and vintage furniture, which was actually doing well as a sideline, whilst I looked for a new job! However I started getting offers for freelance and also working on designs for a few clients and I loved it! I had my own freedom to work when I wanted and how often (which actually became a lot). It's been 10 years and I have never looked back, I have worked for some of the UK's leading design agencies on an ongoing basis and I have a good client base that I do ongoing work for, I have also worked on some very famous brands and love it when I start a new relationship with a client and get to create a new brand.

Because they will be starting a relationship with a designer who is agency level, but does not charge agency prices, can adapt to any brief and can commit time to work consistently and to any agreed deadline and is very creative. I also love what I do and will deliver considered, effective and meaningful design, every time.
