Hi Adam, we are naturally saddened to hear your account of your experience working with us as we very much care about the outcomes we achieve for our clients and our role in making their business activities a success. Having reviewed your comments, and the email dialogue surrounding them between yourself and Ed, it does appear that Ed made a considerable attempt to clarify and explain the model and the numbers he had provided, and had offered on multiple occasions to discuss them with you to ensure all was clear. We were also only made aware that you were unclear about the model once our invoices to you were already more than 45 days overdue, and despite checking-in with you again in early January to make sure you were at one with everything and offer to run through the model further, it was another 20 days before you responded with a commitment to pay – which was eventually honoured following a further follow-up 4 days later. We do consider 65+ days to pay our fees (which are deliberately held at very reasonable rates to support prompt payment) to be an unreasonable delay, especially given our openness to help you further if you had asked sooner. Even after this, Ed took the time to reply to your comments with a detailed email addressing points you had revealed you weren’t clear on, and even offered to re-look at the numbers himself if you remained unhappy with them after everything was explained. We were also a little surprised that after leaving this review and informing us you wouldn’t engage our services any further, you subsequently sought our help for some more of your HR work just one working day later (albeit then deciding you did not want to pay up-front at the price we had offered). We remain very happy to help ensure you are clear on the integrity of the information that has been provided and would welcome a more open dialogue from you if you wish to collaborate any further. What inspired you to start your own business?
We started mushroombiz to address a massive hole in the support and advice given to SMEs by professional services and business support companies. With expertise in leadership, finance, operations, contracts, technology and risk management, we’ve spent time designing a service experience that condenses all the unnecessary bureaucracy you get told you need into the relevant essentials that you really do.
Building big teams of people to create a ‘culture’ for the sake of it is backwards. This is why we provide enterprise grade resources to companies at critical stages of growth and keep their operations accountable. Our services are affordable because we use relevant technology efficiently and have built out simple, software agnostic processes that cut across traditional vertical departments like Compliance, HR, Finance and Customer Service.
Because of the way we at Mushroom do things, our clients get the one thing business owners and entrepreneurs need and value the most: more time.

We provide nearly all of our services remotely. There is no need in 90% of our service situations to be in our clients' offices. We do of course make provisions for this if the client wishes it, and we are available for face to face meetings for critical events (HMRC visits, disciplinaries & tribunals etc.)
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Currently we operate all of our meetings virtually as a default as government restrictions ease we will review this policy going forward.
