Sam at Mr Buckley has completed the last two shop and warehouse fit outs for our business. We have been incredibly impressed with his abilities and ambition. The standard of work carried out is excellent, and we are constantly getting compliments on how great the shop floor looks.

Definitely no hesitation in working with him again, as we are in the early stages of planning out our third project together.

Mr. Buckley provided a full service of interior design and implementation of my living room. The brief was left open and the designs he came back with were spectacular. He’s very open to feedback but not much was required as everything had been thought through with consideration of a functional room while being a focal point. More...

I worked with Sam at Mr Buckley Interiors to design our design studio interiors. He went above and beyond to design, source and build everything we needed to make a beautiful, comfortable and often coveted space to work. I highly recommend his services.

Yelp elite Vicky V has the truly amazing job if event organiser for this wonderful and cosy venue, tucked away on thistle street, close to where it crosses Frederick street, in Edinburgh's trendy new town. Tonight's event was a brilliant drag themed, ceramic painting workshop. Part of a long goodbye to our CM Jody who will be crossing the pond in just four weeks (cue the violins!).The venue, complete with disco ball lighting, and a play list that will keep you dancing until the wee hours, is also host to to weaving, silk knicker making, and resin worships, to name just a few. Check out their website and get booked in! More...

JODY,  VICKY, CAZ,  thanks for a lovely arty evening. I thoroughly enjoyed the amazing sandwiches with ham, salad and cheese, the LEFFE beer, J2 apple and raspberry juice and the dessert cupcake. Whoohu. I also had a fun evening painting my plate with spirals and my cup with stripes. Colours,  colors.... Well, Hmmm, our pens seemed to disappear :-) People had painted some amazing forms and figures. There was so much talent!Vicky was great explaining what the Hill House design studio is used for. There are 7 studios and a workshop.  All of the rooms can be hired. A desk in a studio costs you £150/month and the studio would cost you £70 for half a day rental. Not bad, I say, for this location near George Street.  The are several workshops available and you can check out what they offer on craft workshops online. Tonight was a very relaxing atmosphere.  Just perfect! More...

A fantastic venue for an amazing event. Great organisation and loads of fun! The space is great and relaxed and there were awesome crafts and colours to play with with whiskey and booze to inspire ; )The company was amazing as always and the food was delicious; great sandwiches, delicious little cupcakes and beautiful eclairs. I made a new treasured mug that reminds me it is 5 o'clock somewhere in the world but the rest of the yelpers made incredible plates and mugs that I would definitely buy!I would want to hold an event at this venue in the future too! Good prices and good spaces to use how you want to! More...

Hill Street Design House is a beautiful building on Hill Street that is busting full of current and upcoming artists, film makers, interior designers, dress makers, and in essence dream weavers. Home to 7 spacious and well light studios, this place isn't just for hire to those looking for rooms to work from, they also have a room for hire at the front where they host some super amazing workshops that I have become super accustom to! So far I have been to the Karen Mabon scarf making workshop (and now own one hella cool pin up girl silk scarf that I designed!), the El-Aich ceramic painting class (where I created a tasty looking rainbow sprinkles mug) and I even got the chance to go to the Yelp 'Space Cats' party (which was so kawaii cute, tasty and fun I don't know where to begin!) If you're looking for a great way to spend the day, learn a new skill and create something totally unique, defo check out what's on at Hill Street Design House. With plenty of upcoming events, I'm actually signed up to the newsletter so I don't miss out on early bird tickets (be warned: they often sell out fast!) And let me just say right now, it's not just for girls. There is a whisky tasting event coming up that I have plans to get a bunch of tickets to as gifts - who doesn't want to go to that?!The event room is really bright, it's in the centre of town so transportation to and from is no bother and let's not forget it's near some really great pubs (perfect for celebrating your hard work in afterwards!) The classes are really affordable, pretty different to the other stuff that I've seen in Edinburgh and are always well run. Plus I have popped in here to get a dress made by RowanJoy recently, and everyone in house seems really sweet and helpful (not to mention SUPER talented!) More...

Well, it seems suiting that Hill Street Design House is my last review in this month of Yelpy love, because folks: I have a brain crush on this place. I recently got in touch with this studio when an event venue fell through and I was inquiring about renting their front room - but that's a very far cry from the first time I snooped them. I caught sight of this creative playhouse when they did the scarf master class with Karin Mabon last year and have been dutifully internet stalking them since. They had a clutch making workshop I had bookmarked in my computer forever and I was googly eyed over their hat classes, but because the universe is cruel, my schedule never seemed to align.Enter Sunday. In a rare stroke of luck, I found myself with a Sunday morning free... a Sunday morning that just happened to coordinate with their most recent ceramics workshop. (Ok universe, I forgive you). However, on the day, I found myself particularly far behind on some upcoming event planning and (I hate to admit it), shuffling to this studio wishing I could go curl behind a computer instead. I didn't have TIME to sit and paint... but I had made the commitment, so off I shuffled with my work-zombie, cranky morning brain.I learned very quickly: I should ALWAYS have time to sit and paint silly things.I don't like yoga, I fall asleep during meditation and I can't sit still for most breathing exercises - so finding something that makes me slow down for half a second (let alone two hours) is a unicorn. I didn't realize how pleasant it would be to sit for a few hours - paint, chat, drink coffee - and then be on my way. It calmed me down so much, that I ended up being much more productive when I did get back behind that computer. This is my new brain yoga. I'm going to make a point to start scheduling time to be creative without a purpose, at least once a month... it's my version of going to the gym (and therefore lets me off the hook for proper exercise right?). From the sounds of their upcoming workshop schedule - Hill Street will remain top of my list of places to find my paint covered, coffee sipping zen. More...

Q&As

Start with a free 1 hour Initial Consultation on site to discuss the project, fee's, budget and timescale.
As the design process can be highly personal I feel this first hour gives the client an opportunity to meet me and get a feel for if I am the right fit for them.
Once that is done then we get into finalising the brief and then the design process can begin.
At this point the project can take a number of different directions, from design only to full turn key solutions.
As a part of my digital design process I can produce 3D models, photo realistic renders as well as important architectural documentation.

Schooled in Architectural Technology here in Edinburgh and Interior Design in Milan, I have a broad knowledge of design, and can subsequently turn my hand to a lot of different styles.
My designs tend to include strong colour palettes, but I have done a number of very smart projects in muted and monotone themes.
I also tend to go for contemporary furniture & fittings, but have worked these designs into elegant Georgian & Victorian properties, and have never shied away from putting vintage and classical design into the mix, as long as it works together!

In conclusion my work is varied but always follows rigorous design thinking for function and aesthetics.

The satisfaction of providing original innovative design to appreciative clients is why I do this.

After experiencing the height of Interior Design in Milan I came back to Edinburgh with a mission to create a forward thinking design company that questions some of the older ways of thinking about design, and asks what good design can do for the mind and soul.

Clients should choose me because I can offer a lot more than your average interior designer, and can happily accommodate clients wishes whilst being respectful of good design practises.
Each project is approached in a manner fitting to purpose and environment and as each design is a response to these different factors, each project can produce some very different design styles. As such I don't have a particular style, but design rigour is a constant throughout.
