Thought the ambience and menu were very good but all of us were disappointed with the food. The fish and chips was very greasy like the oil wasn't hot enough when it was cooked. The pizza I had was ok but had better to be honest. Maybe use some less strong cheese and more capers would have been nice. Finally the drinks were also watered down. would rather have half a pint of stronger apple juice than a pint of watered down squash. Shame because this place is in a great location. More...

We visited Monarch for breakfast on our last day in Brighton. It was appealing to be able to sit outside and they have created a pleasant atmosphere. Half of our party are vegetarian, so we were pleased to find that they serve a full vegetarian breakfast. It was the best vegetarian breakfast we have ever had. 7 of us were in Brighton for a bit of shopping while our other halves played golf. We found Monarch by chance but thank goodness we did. The service was impeccable. The food was AMAZING. It is one of those places that you hope is successful as it deserves to be. The decor is fantastic and we loved the gin flower wall! I definitely recommend it and all of us said we would go again and again if we lived closer Good Luck More...
