Moddershall Oaks Country Spa Retreat

Me and two of my friends went for an evening spa for my birthday. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful and the facilities were great, although due to the bad weather the outdoor pool was shut which was totally understandable. The only really disappointing thing about the spa evening was the treatment, my friends had a nice treatment but mine wasn’t relaxing in the slightest, there was no working of knots in my shoulders which is what my friends had. My therapist didn’t introduce herself and when she took me into the room she didn’t tell me what happens in the treatment or if I wanted any areas working on, which again was what my other two friends were asked. Had the most relaxing Spa day today. Enjoyed use of all the facilities and as it was sunny spend time lounging on the sun loungers in the sun. Staff were helpful and friendly particularly Trish who served us our lunch and later a cream tea. Trish made us feel so welcome that we will definitely be returning. The staff were friendly and professional from the start and made myself and my sister feel welcomed on arrival and throughout the day. Nothing was too much trouble. The other guests we got speaking to commented on the high level of service also.
Our treatments were given by ‘Lindsay’ who took great care in her service and made the whole session very relaxing and personable. She introduced herself and explained in great detail what would be done and was very attentive to our needs. She really is a credit to your team.
Fabulous food - better than I was expecting to be honest and made even more enjoyable by the view of the lake. Staff were quick to clear tables and just generally make themselves available if needed.
The relaxation room - I just wanted to stay there and not move! So inviting.
The whole day was extremely restful and the areas all superbly clean and tidy.

great stay as usual only issue we had was the room was made up as a twin but that was soon sorted. Treatment great. food great although our meal was very rushed we felt like they wanted to get rid of us the plates not cleared and the next course bought out restaurant was not busy so no need to rush also missed not having the sorbet any more between course.

I booked the Superior natural serenity package for my mums 60th birthday, along with my sister. Highly recommend this package. We did not want to leave....All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The ladies in reception were very welcoming. The girls who did our treatment (Sabrina & Kim) provided an excellent service, we really enjoyed our treatments. The girls serving the hot tub area- nothing was too much trouble, we never had any issues waiting for drinks or food. The food in the restaurant was fabulous and the staff were professional. I visited the spa yesterday as a surprise treat from my bridesmaids. We had The Snug for exclusive use for 3 hours and in that time had afternoon tea, a pedicure and neck/ shoulder massage. The girls who did our treatments were lovely and joined in with all our wedding talk whilst staying professional and doing an amazing job with our treatments. Our host Jo was so helpful always checking we were ok for drinks and food but not in and out all the time which allowed us to relax still and enjoy the beautiful room! We were given a table full of Elemis products to play around with including a face mask and were told how to apply the products and what would be best for our skin. My sister, Mum & I visited last weekend as a lovely girly relaxing treat we’d purchased as a gift for each other. As usual we had a great time with excellent food. The main issue we encountered was the amount of people using their mobile phones - making a very un relaxing environment. One individual was in the lounge area talking loudly on her phone for a long period of time whilst we were in there trying to relax - with staff walking in and out with nothing said. Another guy was sat around the outdoor pool watching football on his phone with the volume on full- again with staff around. Throughout the day there was numerous other individuals using their phone to make calls etc...It was disappointing to not see these people addressed by the staff as it unfortunately impacted the normally very peaceful environment. I would have hoped that there would be a policy on mobile phone use due to the impact it has on other guests. More...

Lovely place - I went with my sister and my Mum for my Mum's birthday. We had a great day but there were things that I expected like small towels in the gym and music maybe? Lunch was lovely, but my chicken was over cooked and very chewy but it didn't detract from a great day. One thing that could have made things easier of the list of things provided e.g. Towels, robes, shampoo, conditioner. I've been many times to the spa and I loved being there each and every time , it's a gorgeous location ,so relaxing this place brings a smile to my face . .. It's like a mini holiday

I visited Thursday the receptionist was very happy and welcoming I didn't catch her name
Also Robyn was polite and very attentive , I had walnut cake and I asked for a baguette afterwards and said you think I'm a right greedy guts ....she smiled and said we don't judge treat yourself that did make me smile I then ordered two more cakes ....they were that yummy , she brought them out and placed them in front of my friends ...,
please tell her I am greedy they were both for me .....she also recommend the fizz it was a great drink ... Great service as always More...

Just returned back from a overnight spa package here for my fiancé and I as a surprise birthday treat. Very easy to get too, well signposted. Staff were all very polite and attentive as soon as we checked in. The suite was amazing extremely comfortable (massive bed!!) and access to the hot tub outside which was great (and quiet). Dinner was lovely even more so the desserts!! (Do not leave without trying one!). Would have been great to have some more lighter options for dinner and more vegetarian options too but a very minor point. Our massages were wonderful, really relaxed. Breakfast was lovely great choice and all spa facilities were great and relaxing, unfortunately the steam room stopped working but when it was working it was amazing and gives your leg a super glow!!! It was our first visit to Moddershall Oaks Spa and it certainly won’t be our last! It was a surprise “mini-moon” following our wedding on Friday 27th July. From arrival to departure all the staff were very welcoming and professional. Our room was very well equipped and very comfortable and clean. We had evening dinner & breakfast and the food was excellent quality with great service. The spa facilities were excellent as was the treatment we both enjoyed. I have been to a good few spa’s in
My time and I have been wanting to visit
Moddershall oaks for a while and it met and exceeded my expectations .
The welcome was so genuine and friendly .
We had a peach Bellini which was unexpected and free on arrival . We were they showed to our suite which was amazing with twin
Beds , a sofa , a great bathroom with elemis toiletries , a lovely patio overlooking the fields and a bottle of prosecco .
We used all the facilities and the vitality pool was a high light .
We had a delicious meal in the restaurant overlooking the lake and my friend said it was the best meal she had ever had .
The food was well presented and we had a extra pate course as there was a wait for the main meal .
We had a good nights sleep and a good quality breakfast cooked to order .
We both had a very good hot stone massage .
We spent the day in the spa and we both did not want to leave . We will most definitely return

I booked the superior natural serenity package as a surprise for my husband. We arrived yesterday on our 1st Wedding anniversary, while on arrival received a glass of Prosecco each. Lovely setting for afternoon tea. Luckily we had beautiful weather and we're able to sit on the terrace and enjoy stunning views across the pool area. Saying this the interior sitting area was equally as nice should one desire the option. A really relaxed and enjoyable afternoon in a great location. The service was very friendly and helpful. I can't say thank you enough and how impressed we were! Upon arrival, we were greeted with raspberry belinis and even a card from Moddershall for our Anniversary!
The staff were amazingly courteous, helpful & kind. Wish I'd taken some of their names to mention a special thank you. The facilities were fab! Gym, indoor pools, outdoor pool, steam room, foot spa... we enjoyed them all! Been to spa days before but this was def the best! Even how relaxed we were made to feel by being encouraged to have lunch in our robes by the lake side in the sunshine!

My daughter treated me for my birthday and it's the first time I have ever been. We were booked in for the evening and a massage. This was our second time in Moddershall. We've booked a deal with a massage, dinner and breakfast included. At the arrival we were offered complementary drinks. We checked in and our room was beautiful. The spa area is lovely, staff was very friendly and accommodating. The outdoor pool is warm and nice. There is a sauna outside overlooking the hot tub. We tried the gym first which is small( I would have expected a bigger gym) and then went for a back massage witch was very pleasant. Dinner was my favourite part of the experience. The food was amazing. We had parfait as a starter, venison and plaice as mains, sticky toffee pudding for dessert and it was all delicious. Breakfast next morning was good. The only thing I could fault were the pillows. They were to stuffed and really uncomfortable. I will definitely go back to Moddershall, next time I will take my own pillow. More...

Very nice grounds and setting. We went for a meal last night and it was posher than the normal place we go to.
We had some vouchers for Christmas and managed to get my mom and dad to look after our two toddlers for the night.
Upon arrival we were very lucky as someone was just pulling out and got a parking spot as there is not much car parking space there.
Is it quite a walk to the restaurant down many corridors.
The staff were very welcoming and allowed us to sit down early as we got there quicker than expected. The waitress was very nice and polite.
I had the lamb and my partner had the steak. The portion size was not very big but the meal filled me up nicely.
We both ordered dessert, we both had sticky toffee pudding. It was delicious but unfortunately my partner found a hair in her pudding and did not eat the rest after finding it. She was not charged for her pudding.
This was such a shame as the rest of the night was faultless. The manager also come over and apologised. We both thought the tables were a little close together. We cannot comment on the Spa facilites as we went just for the Meal.

I’m surprised to have read some of the older reviews about this spa. I am pleased to say that from our point of view it was a really relaxing pleasurable stay and we would recommend it to anyone.
My sister and I recently made our 1st visit to Moddershall Oaks and had an enjoyable and relaxing time. From the moment we arrived, we were dealt with professionally but also in a very friendly way. The receptionist took us to our room and as soon as we stepped through the door it was obviously clean and well appointed.
We were made to feel very welcome and without exception, found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We stayed for one night (not long enough!) and found the accommodation very luxurious and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for anybody and every time you walked past member of the staff they always acknowledged you, smiled and asked if you were ok.
I was impressed with the quality of the food and found the food to be presented very well and arrived hot by friendly and efficient staff. The restaurant staff were very attentive and as with others couldn't do enough for you.
Finally, the treatments were the 'icing on the cake'. Between us we had four spa treatments and would say 3 of the 4 were the best we've experienced. We would have no hesitation in recommending Moddershall Oaks if you want a quiet place to relax and be pampered.
I've read some negative reviews and have tried to think of a negative - I can't and in comparison to other spa's I’ve been to its the best for room quality, attentive service, excellent /therapists/treatments and fab food. The spa pool, sauna and Turkish bath also get EXCELLANT from me.
We'll definitely return to Moddershall Oaks and thanks to all the staff for a very pleasant stay. More...

We often visit, as it's one of the best food establishments in the area. The taster dinners are especially good and we like them because we get to try wines we ordinarily wouldn't. We've been for meals and have used the spa and spent an overnight stay for a special occasion.
We had a slight issue over a booking for the November taster menu but it was eventually sorted in an efficient and professional manner. We'd highly recommend and it remains one of our favourite places to eat. More...
