Q&As

Barbara and Kresimir, founders of MKARE, are highly accomplished healthcare professionals who bring a wealth of experience and energy to the domiciliary home care sector. The plethora of NHS strategies, frameworks and plans that commissioners and providers use to deliver services seem to agree on at least one thing, much acute care needs to move away from hospital buildings and be provided closer to home. There is growing evidence to suggest that in many cases this should be taken one step further, with hospital-type services delivered, under the guidance of hospital trusts, directly in a person’s usual place of residence.

Your health and well-being are at the very heart of what we do. Central to our core values are compassion, communication and commitment, enabling us to deliver the highest standards of care within the comfort and safety of your home.
The team at MKARE will be at the very highest standards of health care delivery so as to support our service users to feel safe and secure with the care we deliver. We fully understand the expectations of the person receiving the care. We are committed to providing the very best in-home comforts for our service users. Through the domiciliary care offering, we will always involve you in decisions about your care and treatment and give you as much choice and control as possible.

Services

Why choose daily home care?
Daily home care keeps older adults who are recovering from injuries or managing acute or chronic health conditions where they want to be – at home. Having support with personal care, whether it helps with dressing, bathing, or assistance with meals and medication, can make a big difference to your quality of life. We understand that personal care can be sensitive to each individual. That’s why our Care Professionals are discreet and take time to build a close rapport with our clients to ensure a more individual and personal experience.

With the Daily Home Care package we will do the following:
- Light housekeeping
- Personal Hygiene
- Changing bed linens
- Managing medications
- Monitoring vital signs
- Assistance with light exercise

Benefits of Home Health Care
Greater Independence
Older adults may not admit they’re struggling because they don’t want to lose their independence. One of the primary benefits of Daily home care is that it helps older adults continue doing everyday tasks like walking, bathing, dressing and preparing meals. This way, they can live independently at home as long as possible.

Safety, Comfort and Convenience
Research shows that elderly adults recover faster, with fewer complications, at home than in a hospital. With home health care, patients can get help managing their medications. This prevents harmful drug interactions, which can help you avoid going to the hospital. Our team can help create a safe environment to reduce the risk of falls. Being at home allows older adults to stick to their routines in familiar surroundings and maintain a sense of normalcy in their lives.

Personalized Care
Patients receive one-on-one attention and a care plan that is tailored to their specific needs. This makes treatment more effective and builds trust among the patient, caregiver and home health care team.

High Quality
An important benefit of home health care is that it is grounded in evidence-based practices and standards of care to make sure patients receive the right care at the right time in their homes. You can check quality scores on Care Compare.

Relief for Family Caregivers
The benefits of home health care also extend to family caregivers. Home health aides can help with bathing, dressing and other daily tasks. This relieves some of the burdens on family caregivers. The home health team can also educate family members about how to provide follow-up care and connect them with helpful resources. This type of support provides peace of mind and protects against caregiver burnout.

Prevents Avoidable Trips to the Hospital
Older adults may be able to avoid unnecessary hospital visits by managing their health conditions at home. Home health care helps by providing regular monitoring and education. Patients also have 24/7 access to a professional they can call if they’re having troublesome symptoms and aren’t sure what to do.

Hospital discharge will generally only take place if the patient can return home safely and continue to receive an appropriate level of short-term support.

At MKare, our specialised and experienced team will work closely with the Hospital Discharge team, you and your family, together with the Healthcare Professionals, to ensure you are able to return to the comfort of your home safely.

The Hospital to Home Care service will cover patients who do not require ongoing interactions with the health and social care services to support their recovery. However, they may need a limited number of arranged follow-ups immediately after discharge. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Help, advice and support on the road to a safe recovery
- Removal of stitches or clips
- Change of dressings
- Early stoma support
- Monitoring vital signs
- Diabetes/Insulin support
- Continues IV Antibiotic therapy

In addition to rehabilitation support, our team will be there, if necessary, to assist you with all other aspects of living in your own home including domestic help, companionship, helping you understand your medication, personal care or specialist care for more complex conditions such as dementia care, Parkinson’s care or stroke care.

Call us today to discuss your requirements and/or for us to give you guidance to ensure your safe and comfortable return home.

Many people are afraid to think about end-of-life care, and even more afraid of talking about it with relatives and loved ones. But, while it may be a difficult conversation to embark on, it is vital that you know your relatives’ wishes before the time comes. You’ll want to ensure that the care they receive matches what they want and prioritises what is important to them.

Coming up with a thorough end-of-life care plan and making sure that everybody involved in a person’s private care adheres to that plan will make a significant difference to the quality of the remainder of their life.
