Back in February 2019 I started to get the idea of selling my home and started the early stages of collecting info on Mortgage Brokers

My partner had got an IVA which was due to clear in March 2020

Speaking to different Mortgage Brokers and debt advisors, we kept getting reports that it would be nigh impossible to get her board and very costly

So was trying to proceed by myself, having sold my house I just wasn’t hitting the mark with my equity and earnings to get anything decent

And no matter which broker I spoke to, kept getting the same info on my partner and wavering figures of what I could do

We opted to not sell and wait for my partner in the hope after march 2020 we would have more options

2020 as we all know a very different year and didn’t help our options having to wait in the end of the first lockdown to try and re-sell

During the down time, I did some more searching online and found a site called Bark, which recommended a company called Midland finance

We needed to find a broker who could see our objectives, support our our journey and give us options and understand some of our limitations

One morning I got a call from a Gentleman called Matthew Rock, honestly, it was one of the best calls we could have got

Initially sceptical of being phoned, I quickly realised I had a polite, helpful down to earth guy, who sounded like after all the unhelpful folk we had chatted to

Confident he could help and wanted to help and not just brush us off as too complicated or difficult

We got past the first lockdown and prepared to sell again with Matthew on board and we were confident we had the right guy to steer us forward

He managed to get Lisa on board and for the first time we had real options

The first property we offered on was nilled as having structural issues disappointed Matt pushed us on to get out there and pick another

And supported us when we needed propping up

Eventually in September we found another and together with my partner and Matt pushing us forward we offered and secured the property and moved in February 2021

Matthew Rock really is solid as a rock (should be his slogan), helpful, timely, confident, never pushy or frustrated and was happy to be a sounding board for all our musings and frustrations of the housing market

We couldn’t have asked for a better guy and will continue to use Matt moving forward
