Q&As

The ability to help those in need and knowing that our daily effort helps so many lives and puts a smile on their faces. Helping others is the most rewarding job you can have.

I've founded several successful businesses, all of them with the aim to support the community. I have been supporting children accessing affordable tuition in London for many years and then decided to reach the other part of our population who also need special support, such as the elderly community.

Our team members have years of experience in the care industry, possess the highest qualifications and go through intensive training and supervision. They are all passionate about their jobs with a genuine interest in helping those in need.
Our care plans are flexible and easily adjustable to our clients needs. You can cancel or add services at any time.

Services

Our day care package is a high-quality personal care service, providing expert, at-home support on a daily basis, helping our clients to retain a sense of normality. Our unique approach to care allows our clients to maintain their independence and remain in their own home, on their own terms. We are conscious of how important it is to have the opportunity to make your own choices about your individual needs, which is why we provide personalised, tailored packages suited to your lifestyle.
The Metrolab Care team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year - ready to step in whenever you need assistance. Our professionally-trained care team will always respect your privacy, dignity, choices and rights.

Everyday care includes:

Support with cleanliness, including: bathing, showering, foot care etc. Our carer will ensure you are able to safely enjoy a relaxing bath, or a simple energising shower, providing the physical support needed to get into/out of the bath/shower. We also provide a strip wash and bed bath including: washing you using a flannel and warm water. We offer advanced assistance, including 2 carers helping you to wash whilst lying down or seated.
We are happy to help with dressing, making the process as simple and easy for you as possible. Our carer will help you find comfortable clothes and carefully assist you with dressing.

Foot/skin care - Our carers will monitor your skin, feet and nails to keep them well-maintained so that you can retain comfort and mobility. We have specialist care for diabetics and other skin-related conditions, and will help you with the support of professional chiropodists. Our skin-care includes: checking for dryness, redness, marks and supporting you with applying creams, ointments, lotions and reporting any changes, allowing you to get the best treatment possible.

Support with hair and appearance - We understand it is important to maintain your appearance and our expert careers will ensure your hair is clean and styled to your preference, arranging visits from a home hairdresser if required. For female clients we also offer make-up and nail care. For male clients we are happy to help with shaving.

Oral Hygiene - Your smile and confidence are important to us so we will ensure your teeth and gums are well cared for. Our carers will help you to maintain a teeth cleaning routine and assist you with regular visits to the dentist or arrange home dental visits.

Assistance with toileting - The body doesn’t always cooperate as we want it to, and you may require more assistance with activities you were previously able to do independently. All of our carers are respectful, sensitive and compassionate when assisting you with using the bathroom. If you need continence management (continence pads, catheter, stoma bag), our carers will closely monitor the changing of these. A proper routine will be maintained to eliminate any possible infections and sores. If you need to use a commode or bed pan, our supportive carers are available to be on-hand to assist you at any time of the day.

Using wheelchairs, recliners and bed mobility - It is important that you feel as comfortable as possible when spending large amounts of time in bed or in a chair, due to mobility issues. Our carers provide excellent support so that you are moved frequently and encouraged to undertake stretching to help alleviate sores and maintain mobility.

Metrolab carers are happy to provide other care and support in the home, including: domestic tasks, monitoring and management of medication, laundry and ironing, meal planning/cooking, household cleaning, shopping, contacting gardeners/handymen, managing transport and any other routines that you wish to establish with our support. We also provide companionship and organise community-based activities allowing you to develop a rich and fulfilling lifestyle, despite any existing conditions.

If you do not need constant care, you may find that our live-in housekeeper package suits you better. A fully-trained and DBS-checked housekeeper can be on-hand whenever you need help. Carefully matching you with a housekeeper who can help with your individual needs is an important part of the process. When meeting you we will get to know your preferences and the type of person and care you’re looking for. You will even have the opportunity to make the final choice from a selection of profiles and we are always available to help if you have any issues. When your housekeeper needs to take a break, we will take care of this too, arranging for a suitable relief housekeeper to support you until they return, ensuring that they are aware of your needs and routine.

Care holidays provide a taster of live-in care. Our holiday care service shares many similarities with live-in support and many of our clients use it as a trial to better understand how live-in care can suit them. With this first-hand experience of a full-time carer, individuals can decide whether a more permanent tailored solution is right for them.

You will need to have a spare bedroom for your live-in carer with a bed and furnishings, so that they can live comfortably in your home with you but have a private space of their own. Before you care commences, a local live-in care manager will discuss this with you and check the there is an appropriate bedroom for you carer when they visit you.

Live-in care hours of work - our live-in carers usually start the day at around 7am and will continue to support you with all your tasks until lunch, where they will take 2 hours break, and will come back to helping you around tea time. They will assist you during dinner time and after helping you go to bed, they will have a rest period, around 8pm or 9pm.
