Appalling in every sense. Experienced everything that you hope will never happen when you start building work. After paying out the deposit we were left high and dry. Minimal work completed, labourers being sent to the job with no materials, days and weeks with no work completed, false promises, unanswered phone calls and emails. On the rare occasion that we actually managed to speak to a project manager we were given a million excuses for the astounding lack of progress over weeks and weeks. These usually revolved around blaming any number of former members of the work force. The buck would surely stop with Stuart Ball (CEO) but there was no line of communication and no accountability. We saw builders being sacked without pay which made us feel we weren’t the only ones being treated with a total lack of regard. The work was never completed, it barely started and we are still owed money. We've since heard that the company has dissolved and the website which traded on the military name and promised the earth has been taken down. Just like 'Richmond'. Took my money, times scales dragged & I think they have gone bust, although still got an email on Wednesday promising plans. Very poor service, and I wish I had googled for reviews before paying the funds over. More...

Took money off us for plans etc recieved nothing!!!!! Think they have gone bang.......DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR MONEY!!!!

This company is ran by cowboys who haven’t a clue what they are doing.
They do not pay there staff on time or in full. My partner is still owed his legally entitled weeks notice pay after they dismissed him due to over employment.
They also wanted him to remove the uniform on his back after letting him go where he was told that the reason for his dismissal was because they ‘had picked his name out of a hat’ (and yes I do have this on recording) luckily I had told my partner to record the conversation during his meeting after having suspicions that this outrageous company had no clue how to run a business.
Use at your own risk, however be warned that this company takes large deposits from their customers in order to fund existing customers work. You will be lucky to get a good service or a finished job. More...

I contracted Merriott Chard to produce a design for a garage conversion at my home. The site visit was conducted and a table of charges was presented which I paid. It later transpired that the Submit Planning Application and Submit BC Application had not been carried out, indeed planning was not required for this job only BC which I paid directly. MC agreed to refund the two fees totalling £320 but I never received it. I have now made a claim through the Small Claims Court to retrieve this money which they agree they owe me. More...

The company appears professional and customer-focused at first but after plans were produced for a master bedroom in our loft we have a number of builders tell us the plans won't work.

After raising this issue with them numerous times they have done nothing but fob us off and avoid emails. More...

100% would NOT recommend this company, they merged with a company named Affordable Design & Planning and you would assume this would be a good thing, I can assure you it wasn't, promised me I was getting the full package from start to finish, absolute garbage, hidden fees and extra costs to submit to building control, on top of that the architect dealing with my project must have just finished college, he could not follow simple guides I had submitted, windows too big or small, doors in the wrong place it was just a complete mess, he was useless, on top of that due to Covid19 I had to modify my design, I went back to them for a price (not for free, I was willing to pay) to make changes and this is what I was emailed:

"Unfortunately due to our recent business changes we will not currently be taking on any business outside of the Midlands area"

I am not a new project I am an existing project, therefore, the project still isn't complete.

Take my advice, look around for a better company because if you use this company you WILL regret it. More...
