Melody care comes to support me. The carers always offer to help me in anyway and nothing seems too much. They will always stay and have a chat with me and offer additional activities such as concerts which they are happy to support me to go to by picking me up if I need.

I instructed Melody care for my stepfather. I contacted the Alton office and spoke with Kerry Metcalf, area manager. She completely understood my requirements and the needs of my stepfather and mother. Both have Dementia. Kerry has been brilliant & professional with her care. She has shown great sensitivity & understanding of a sometimes, hostile environment. This cannot have been easy but we have worked together and I respect every decision she has made. Her ability to deal with tough situations in a calm manner is amazing. Kerry’s work has taken a massive stress load from me and I can’t thank her enough. I have only met one of her team members and have no doubt that Kerry has great staff working with her. The field of care providers is very difficult to navigate. There are many who simply should not be working in this field. I would highly recommend Kerry & her team at Melody care. Kerry has a depth of knowledge and experience in this area and this is what is needed to run a great team. Thank you so much for supporting my family and myself 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 More...

Q&As

It is incredibly rewarding to care for clients so that they feel comfortable and respected in their own home.

We wanted to make a real difference to the society in which we live. Believing passionately in the importance and value of the service we provide to the elderly and frail members of our community, we have been dedicated in building Melody Care into one of the best care agencies in the area.

Our Private Care allows you or your loved one to maintain the lifestyle that you want. Our personalised Private Care plan is developed alongside you, putting you in the driving seat. We understand that sometimes things can change so the plan is also flexible and it can be amended according to your needs.

All our Professional Hourly Carers wear Personal Protective Equipment such as face masks, aprons and gloves. We encourage good hand hygiene from both our staff and clients.

Services

Home care, sometimes known as hourly care, refers to a range of care that we can offer our clients both in terms of length of visits to regularity of visits. Some of our clients just need a daily visit from our Professional Hourly Carers to help them with tasks such as meal prepping, cleaning and shopping. However, other clients need more frequent visits to help them with more involved activities such as bathing and getting dressed. We don’t believe it’s possible to deliver quality care in a 15 minute visit, so we don’t offer this. We want to allow time to listen to our clients and get to know them well, to complete tasks properly and to observe any changes in their health or well-being and respond accordingly.

Our Private Care allows you or your loved one to maintain the lifestyle you want. It’s not the case that one size fits all. You get to choose how and what you want. Our Private Professional Carers are carefully selected as they have a genuine desire to bring out the best in you. They want to ensure that you can continue to have the choices in life that you deserve and are accustomed to. It is often the smaller jobs that will help you or your loved one remain socially active. Our personalised Private Care plan is developed alongside you or your loved one, putting you in the driving seat. We understand that sometimes things can change. The plan is also flexible, it can be amended according to your needs.

Due to their family members living far away, for some of our clients, their carers may be their only contact they have with the outside world. Research shows that being lonely and isolated can be detrimental to mental health and can lead to increased anxiety and depression. This is why our carers, who visit our clients in their own home, are so important. Not only can a visit improve our client’s quality of life, but it alleviates loneliness. Being mobile and active also reduces the likelihood of hospital stays and helps with overall wellbeing. Perhaps your loved one would like to go to the shops, complete a craft project or simply enjoy a cup of tea and a chat?

Respite care is a short-term care provision, often for a week or two, while your usual carer has a break. Respite breaks can be planned or unplanned depending on circumstances – it could be for a family emergency, carer illness or injury, or for a well deserved holiday or short break. Respite care can be required after a hospital stay. Sometimes our clients are in hospital but need a Care Plan to be arranged before they can return home. We are happy to visit you in hospital to discuss your requirements. We will also liaise with your loved ones and the healthcare professionals to ensure everything is in place ready for your return.

Live-in Care is when a professional and trained carer lives with you in your home supporting you with your day-to-day needs. Having a Live-in Carer enables you to maintain your hobbies, interests and social life. It is recognised that one-to-one support in familiar surroundings promotes health and emotional wellbeing in a way that residential care cannot do. We will also conduct a thorough assessment including gathering information from those closest to you, whether social or medical, in order to provide a bespoke, client focused package. We are very thorough in our approach to finding the best carers possible for each of our clients. Obtaining references for all our carers is only one small part of a very extensive process that we insist all our Live-in Carers go through before they can join us.
