More or less our local. It's a pleasant place with friendly staff and a good range of food and drink.

We were staying in the village of Norham a weeks holiday so popped into The Masons Arms on three occasions, the first time we visited the landlady was so friendly and she she realised we were staying locally said on more than one occasion that if we needed anything to just pop in that they were always available to help- which was lovely. We ate there a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. More...

We came here for a quick supper prior to a concert being held in the nearby church! We found the food was really well cooked, attractively presented and extremely delicious! The menu is kept fairly simple but there is an original twist to what's on offer. I had brie wellington with mediterranean veg. and my husband had chicken and bacon carbonara. Pudding was apple and damson pie with ice-cream, cream or custard. Everything was freshly prepared to order. The dining-room is attractive and light but you can also eat in the bar area too. Two things I really felt strongly about was that you were really welcomed by staff who couldn't have been more attentive and appropriate in their offers of help and information for two strangers. The ladies room was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully prepared with a range of toiletries etc - even with a can of hair spray! We felt that this establishment was superb and the food far far better than that of the up-market hotel where we were staying and in which we were extremely disappointed. More...
