About

Mark is a 2x world record holder.

He and his team were the first people to kayak the entire Northwest Passage in the Arctic, and the first to do it under human power. It was an epic journey, which took 103 days, full of adversity and beauty.

It was an absolute pleasure to have Mark come and talk to our GP trainee group. As well as him being very responsive to our communications, his talk was inspiring, engaging, entertaining and poignant.

We shared in the highs and lows of his experiences as an adventurer, and along the way learnt that even what might be considered a failure has value for learning and personal growth. I would highly recommend Mark.

Mark joined us on our team “away day” to tell us about his past and upcoming rowing expeditions. The way he engaged the team in his story and made us think about the way our team works going forward was really inspiring.

Mark seamlessly brought our company behaviours in to his presentation to deliver his message in a very relevant manner. A true pleasure to work with.

Motivational Speaking

Mark presented at our employee conference and provided a very thought-provoking session that reinforced our over-arching messages. His authentic story of resilience and teamwork was well received. He was very helpful with the organisation of the event, arriving promptly and offering support before and during the event through excellent communication and being flexible to the requirements of our event. We were very impressed with his professionalism and personable approach to our event which ran over three mornings with repeated content on each day (we split the conference into three to provide a safe event for our full employee base without having everyone in the same room). Mark accommodated us by creating a tailored session with plenty of interaction and discussion points which reflected the goal of the day. A much recommended speaker for any event. More...

Mark's talk was certainly not what I expected when we were told an adventurer was coming to give us a talk. It was surprisingly honest, which made it all the more relatable.

Mark manages to be authentic but also exciting. His descriptions of time at sea were incredible.

Q&As

It is amazing to speak to people after my talk and realise how many others struggle with failure. It gives me great satisfaction to share my framework to help others overcome their obstacles.

I cringed at the idea of sharing my story. But when a friend encouraged me to give a talk I finally relented. The reaction blew me away and I soon understood I had a story to tell, that would help others. It was then that I turned it into a business.

I believe I am uniquely authentic. Not many adventurers are prepared to talk about the mental toll of their expeditions. But it is not all doom and gloom, I strive to make my talks engaging and exciting.

I can do both. The energy I give to my audiences is not lost by changing to a video talk.

I now provide video talks, as well as in person events.

Services

Mark delivers a fascinating talk that can be tailored for all ages and events. He draws on his adventures to talk about jeopardy at sea and mental health struggles on land. The tales are gripping, open and honest and funny.

Mark hosts a fun, relaxed and informative workshop. The length varies depending on your needs. Your audience will leave felling energised, with actionable lessons and also they will be highly entertained by the stories that are woven into the workshop.
