Unreliable, rude and difficult to deal with. In the beginning Lewis seemed to be professional but things went quickly downhill as soon as I transferred the first part of the money to his account. After that he did not keep me updated on how the job was going to be done, he replaced wrong parts of the existing fence, disturbed my neighbours, and did not bother to consult in advance how each part of the project was going to be done. Only after he installed the fence, I realised that it was done well below to the agreed height. Lewis failed to recognise his fault and refused numerous requests for the bad job to be fixed. When I wanted to voice my concerns and challenge his wrong decisions, he became rude, kept interrupting me and did not let me speak. When I finally managed to explain he did not want to accept responsibility for the bad job. No invoice or receipt for payment has been provided either. I had to resort to taking legal action through the county court to enforce my rights. Avoid this trader, do not get fooled by his first impressions or his assurance how well he will do everything or, like me, you will regret your decision that you hired him. More...

What do you love most about your job?
I love transforming driveways and patios for are customers bringing there dreams to reality
There’s nothing better receiving positive feedback from are customers and to me that’s more important than the money as my reputation is worth more than money it’s a pride thing I will always go above and beyond we’re ever possible for everything single customer
As we say the proof is in the pudding
What inspired you to start your own business?
I love concrete always have started out doing form work in collage when I was 18 years old now 31 and love it even more as the years go by you evolve into different areas eg driveways patios but the passion stays the same
My inspiration to start my business was my son Ralph he is 9 years old and he is the R in L&R Surfacing I wanted him to have a beautiful life with his own business ready too go when he leaves school he is my pride and joy and he loves wot we do just as much as me he can already measure jobs correctly and also tell you the specs of are concrete and are resin materials
He attends work with me every weekend and also in the school holidays as he loves to get his wages
He’s the real big boss ❤️

Imprinted concrete
Imprinted concrete is a very hard standing long lasting material it’s very low in maintenance only requires re sealing every 2 years which we offer the service in house giving you peace of mind
It comes with a 10 year guarantee but they last a lot longer if sealed as required
There are plenty of colours and prints to choose from so your driveways or patio areas can stand out and be bespoke to your request
We love concrete here at L&R surfacing it’s are grass roots and are team off installers come with over 30 years experience off installing which means your in great hands
Resin bound stone
Resin bound stone is a beautiful aggregate blend of stone ranging from marble ,quartz and granite then mixed along side UVR stable glue
UVR stable glue means it will not change colour within the sun light giving a superb finsh for many years
We are trusted installers of VUBA which is the biggest supplies of Resin in the uk giving you peace of mind
It’s also comes with a fantastic 15 year guarantee
All are Resin bound stone projects get laid on geo tex membrane ensuring no sub siding of the MOT as resin is pours
All the Mot is type 1 and is around 150mm-200mm Deep ensuring no water returning to the service then after mot we install a concrete No fines base at 100mm giving a super strong base to lay the resin directly to the top we also prime the concrete too make sure the resin adders to the base
The resin will be 20mm thick giving that beautiful finsh every time we call It the icing on the cake
We also add quartz to the mix which gives 33%more strength
In the Resin business cheap is not good as quality materials are very expensive your really do pay for wot you get
Rest assured we do not cut any corners on are installs and make sure everything is done by the book for are customers
