Q&As

I find people fascinating and I'm pretty good at what I do, so I really enjoy my work, and seeing how people benefit from coming to see me is incredibly rewarding!

I wanted to offer clients a flexible and responsive alternative to sitting on a long waiting list for counselling, so that they can access the help they need when they need it.
Also, I always wanted to be my own boss and have the freedom and flexibility to do things the way I want to do them. For example, I offer 90 minute sessions, as well as the usual "counselling hour".

I'm able to respond to my clients needs and preferences, not only when it comes to offering different approaches, but also the timing and frequency of sessions. People sometimes have varied schedules and can't always come at the same time each week, for example, or they might want to come twice a week, or fortnightly, or whatever. I have the flexibility to arrange my diary to suit my own and my clients' needs and schedules, allowing for other commitments.

Yes, I offer online sessions, over Zoom or WhatsApp, telephone sessions, too, and even Email Counselling, for clients who prefer to write about what's bothering them, or who maybe don't have the time to commit to sessions.

I'm doing more work online now, but I'm also continuing with in-person sessions, with procedures in place to ensure client safety and protection from Covid-19.

Services

Sometimes it’s helpful to talk to someone who’s not involved in your life, someone who can help you to figure out what’s really bothering you, someome who can be objective and non-judgemental, and can help you find a way forward.

If you’ve ever said, “I don’t know why I do that” about any habit or pattern of thinking or behaviour that you want to change, then I offer a form of hypnotherapy called RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy).

EFT is a fantastic method amd self-help tool for achieving quick and lasting relief from anxiety, physical and emotional pain, and the effects of trauma.

Longer-term paychotherapy may be needed for more complex or deeply rooted issues, such as childhood attachment trauma, abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, personality disorders, eating disorders, OCD, dissociative disorders, issues around gender and sexual identity, self-harm and suicidality. I’m an IFS Informed and Certified Complex Trauma Therapist.

If you think you’d prefer to write rather than talk, perhaps because it gives you more time to think, or because you have a busy achedule and don’t have the time to set aside for counselling sessions, them Email Counselling might suit you. You write yo to 1500 words and I’ll reply in a timely fashion with my therapeutic response.
