Andy is brilliant! Our lock spring broke (nightmare scenario with a toddler and newborn in tow in 2 degrees weather) and due to it being very old, there was nothing he could do to get in. But he didn’t give up, despite it being evening and him being due home hours before. He eventually got us in through the back, and worked until 8pm before calling it a day and returning the next day to fix the front door lock. He did a great job and on top of that is a lovely guy. Checkatrade is excellent for finding trusted trades and I have found a few in the past that have been excellent. Some though return your call and come to see what you need doing and then you never hear anymore despite chasing them for promised quotes etc. . Never quite sure what to do about that. On the whole the traders listed are good eggs and their profiles are more or less accurate however there are a few on there that are unreliable that have high ratings and some say they work 24 hrs a day when they don't.

A great directory to use to source tradesmen or services in your local area and in the knowledge that they have been tried and tested by others. Reviews are often left because people are either superbly satisfied or the opposite, so they're always worth checking for the authenticity of a business. This makes Checkatrade invaluable. It's also a great source if you are new to the area and need local tradesmen for jobs and are not sure where to get this information from.And of course helps the tradesmen also, to promote the good work that they do and hopefully gets them more business via this form of 'word of mouth' information.
