We have stayed in many hotels in the lakes and this one in our opinion is up theee with the best , the staff are excellent and showed us round the hotel when they learnt it was our first time staying with them , I have never known any other to do this . We dined in the lakeside Resteraunt and the food was at a very high standard with professional staff where nothing was to much trouble . I could go on and on but don't want to bore you but would defiantly recommend it More...

Excellent staff- very friendly. It was a real treat. The pool is quite large for a hotel. The drinks & meals were expensive but so is ever other hotel in the area. The location near the lake is superb. I would go back. More...

Stayed four nights. A well staffed, well maintained, well run and beautifully appointed Hotel. The food was good and if it wasn't on the menu they would supply it.
The Spa was exclusive to Hotel guests and very luxurious. The rooms - both public and bedrooms - were exquisite and beautifully furnished.
Yes I will be going back - maybe in the Autumn to see the woodlands in their autumnal colors.

What a wonderful stay we had. Been a few times for lunch spa and drinks but never to stay. Service was impeccable! Food was amazing in the brasserie. Only haven't given a 5 rating as I think some areas of the hotel are a little tired looking and our bathroom floor had a few cracked tiles. But we will be back and I will definitely recommend More...

My partner and I visited Lakeside for a one night stay, which included use of the spa and breakfast the next morning.
The location and building itself are both absolutely stunning. Our stay was very pleasant; the spa facilities were brilliant, all members of staff that we encountered were lovely and the breakfast was great.
We ate at the John Ruskin Brasserie on the evening; the food was exceptional and the service was too. After dinner we had a few drinks in the Lakeland Pub.
Our room was small but had everything that you might need. The room and bathroom were cleaned and presented to a very high standard, and the bed was very soft and comfortable.
We took the opportunity to walk along the lake after checkout and visited the Lakes Aquarium located just opposite the hotel before driving to Bowness-on-Windermere where we visited The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and walked along the lakeside there.

My mother and I stopped in at Lakeside Hotel and Spa for late lunch. The service was second to none. We mentioned in passing that it was my birthday and the staff surprised me this lovely dessert. The hotel property is immaculate and well appointed but the stand out stars were the staff! More...

My husband and I have been visiting the Lakeside Hotel at least once a year for the last 15 years and have thoroughly enjoyed all of our stays.
As the children have come along they have also enjoyed their visits. The food is exquisite and the dining experience in the main restaurant is wonderful. The pool area is very relaxing, warm and clean with a good sized pool, children's area of pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna all looking out over the garden and lake.
The only criticisms I can find is the temperature in the bedrooms is always a bit too warm but this can be remedied by turning off the radiator and opening the windows.
The only other down side is the recent price hike. A weekend at the Lakeside has never been cheap but recently the prices and really increased, not only of the accommodation but of the food too. Other than an upgrade of the room locks (now key card) and some structural knocking through from a lounge to the conservatory I have not seen what extra the increase in price has provided.
We still enjoyed our stay but the price is now outweighing the experience and we have been considering staying else where when we visit the lakes.
