Went there for a 60th birthday celebration... food was fresh and spicy and service was great. We knew up front it was "bring your own alcohol" which made it very reasonable price wise. The only reason I only gave 4 for atmosphere... was they could do with a few more customers .. so give it a try More...

Place looks terrible outside. Weeds in the car park, unkempt and untidy. Gordy multi coloured lights and ugly plastic furniture and umbrellas. Due to a thread on a local Facebook Group we decided to try a take away. The food was bad, burnt and bland, gave me terrible indigestion. Went last night for a friend's birthday there was 4 of us ..food was excellent except the samosas which was very spicy ! ..shame there wasn't more people coming to try this restaurant we was the only ones there from 7.30 to 10pm apart from a couple the other side ..I thought for a Friday night would be well busy 😌 maybe need to advertise more ..the decor inside is very nice but from.the outside is very drab ..needs a more welcoming look and garden needs a good tidy up..I hope they can survive this as we need a good restaurant here in South godstone. We really, really hoped the food here would be good with it being within walking distance and wanting a new, local business to do well. And we were encouraged by the positive reviews others had posted, but sadly we were left very disappointed and won't be going back. We ordered two tikka massalas (an easy dish we use to benchmark when trying new places), rice and a garlic naan. The curry had loads of sauce which was fab, but no flavour whatsoever. All we could taste was butter, and whilst the chicken had been marinated it wasn't with tikka! We've eaten butter chicken currys with more taste, and just expected much more. Finally experienced La Veru Spice and I can say I was not disappointed at all! We booked this for my sister's birthday, she loved it. The restaurant advertises Italian fusion, but no evidence of an Italian influence. The starter was very large, and dry. The chicken very lemonie and the other starters needed a sauce. For main, the whole trout was lovely but dry. The prawn korma was not appealing. The vegetarian main was ok, but too much for what is usually a side. The service was very poor, slow and left cutlery on the table to be reused between courses. We asked for the music to be changed as it was too loud with foul language. We has hoped this was going to be a restaurant that added to the village and had read positive review, but we faced a very large bill for what it was I can't say I would return or recommend. I dont mind having a non alcohol restaurant but it should made clear before arrival. Really missing the mark, pity as it could have been a great new spot! More...

It was our first visit to the village. Our grandparents had booked us the restaurant for a meal. We were very pleased about the service, the food and the experience. The manager (Ahmed) was particularly hospitable. We have a young child (age 1) and she was prepared for in advance with a high chair and a place set at the table which was amazing. The food was first class, tasty and plenty for us all to eat. The food was tailored to our preference on spice (which is rare) and we all cleared our plates. Very poor impression. We thought we’d try out the new place in the village - The menus were hardly readable, on photocopied paper with food smeared on. Went with a friend who came to visit and throughly enjoyed our meal. Really lovely food, beautifully cooked with generous portions. We got served really quickly and the manager to lovely and chatty. They’ve recently had issues with their Italian chef hence why they’re only serving Indian food at the moment but hoping to rectify this soon. I saw a review earlier of someone complaining their menus are only printed on paper at the moment.
