When you enter the Kallacliff Hotel there is a sign on the wall saying; "ENTER AS STRANGERS, LEAVE AS FRIENDS". The owners of this pleasant eclectic comfortable hotel in Newquay, Liz and Colin, go far beyond the sentiment expressed by the words on this sign. My wife and I did, indeed, enter as strangers, but we left feeling as though we were leaving treasured family members behind. We flew from our home in the United States to London, enjoyed several busy days in and around that great city before taking the sleeper train to Cornwall. On the way we stopped in St Austell to visit the Eden Project so needless to say we were quite tired when we arrived at the Kallacliff Hotel to check-in. We were immediately and graciously greeted by Liz who offered us a pot of tea or coffee which she brewed fresh and brought to a table in the dining area while Colin took our bags up to our large, comfortable room which had a breathtaking view of the Cornish coast. We enjoyed the freshly prepared full English breakfast Liz prepared each morning and as a special bonus we were introduced to their friends Tony and Marion who are a delightful retired couple who along with Liz and Colin will always be remembered as premier examples of kindness, graciousness, and unsurpassed hospitality. The Kallacliff Hotel in Newquay, Cornwall is reasonably priced, extremely comfortable, conveniently located, serves delicious food, has great views-these things are reason enough to stay there, but it is unique because of Liz and Colin and Tony and Marion. ||We have been blessed to have traveled to many parts of the world and the Kallacliff and its people shall always hold a special good memory in our hearts.
