A highlight for me was hosting an area at Green Gathering, where James facilitated a body percussion workshop - attracting a healthy crowd! Lessons are very helpfull and go into alot of depth into what and how can be improved. Also has a clear enjoyment in his work as a teacher which is very important
I have been having lessons for a while now and they continue to be very enjoyable and helpfull. He is always willing to go the extra mile for the student and organises leasons to fit the prefered method of learning from the student at hand.

I've been having lessons with James for a little while now. It was just something I thought I should try. I wasn't planning on taking it too seriously, just a case of see how it goes.
So, first lesson, off I went, borrowed a guitar from him for that hour and I was off.
First of all, James is patient, and he needs to be :-)
He appears very chilled, yet he's very focussed, determined and ambitious.
There's never any pressure though. If something isn't working, he'll try and get to the same result a different way, or multiple different ways, until he finds what works best for you.
He works at your pace and skill level, but with a gentle nudge to get you to the next step.
I tend to get frustrated easily, so I was concerned that I'd end up losing the desire to continue, if progress wasn't as quick as I wanted. However, this hasn't happened, primarily because James manages expectations really well. It takes time to learn this thing, and, if you don't practice, for whatever reason, it will take even longer.
If I do a week of proper practice, then you can hear the results at the next lesson. And you can see the smile on James face... he's genuinely really pleased.

What do you love most about your job?
Seeing students grow within the span of our guitar lessons, and seeing the joy on their faces as they nail a chord progression/ lick/ understand a piece of music theory.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started JWS Guitar Lessons because I want to contribute to the community of local guitar teachers who teach 1 - 1 lessons, as I feel it is very important to be taught from someone you can interact to in real life. I want to provide the wonderful guidance I received as I learnt from other tutors, to give back, and to continue learning, as I learn as much from the people I teach as they do from me. Every day is different.
Why should our clients choose you?
Throughout our lessons together, you will learn to play your favourite songs, understand how those songs are formed, and how you can express yourself in a wide variety of ways through music. Ultimately, you will learn to become a better musician, one who knows how to listen for key changes in music, being able to create your own songs, and learning the core technical and musical aspects of playing.
Also, if you are a complete beginner with no previous experience, I guarantee you that in 10 lessons you will be able to play your favourite songs on the guitar, and that each lesson will be delivered in an understandable, down-to-earth manner, with enjoyment of music at its core. If you are not satisfied with any of the lessons then I will refund your money back.
