Peggy Dowding wanted to move from a Care home to her own flat. Peggy was 96 years old and on the End-Of_life register with multiple health issues. Joyful Care ,Imelda, had to set up everything from scratch and deal with health professionals on a daily basic. This was done in a timely and efficient manner. Imelda established a wonderful nurturing, caring environment. She was always upbeat and friendly and always found time to chat while dealing with stressful situation that occured regularly due to Peggy's health. What inspired you to start your own business?
I am naturally caring by nature and like looking after others, so it was a career that always interested me. It is very rewarding to give someone a better quality of life. I also feel strongly there is no place like home and live in care is a hugely positive alternative to care homes for elderly people. I started my own home care agency after working with difference care setting. Prior to this, I had been in a senior role within a residential care setting, care home and in the community. I have a true passion for working with more vulnerable clients including those with dementia and people at the end of their life - and take huge pride in knowing I have made a difference to someone’s day. I approach my work treating people how I would expect my parents to be cared for by showing dignity, respect and providing the quality of care they deserve. I have built strong relationships with my clients and am looking forward to growing the live in care service with the same care, compassion, and commitment.

We at Joyful Care have worked tirelessly to ensure all our live-in carers and clients remain as safe as possible, from regular testing, PPE being always available through to booking our carers into priority to placement.
