I can highly recommend Joyce Porter. She guided me through the re-decoration and re-furbishment of our hall, landings and stairs from basement to entrance hall and then first and second floor landings in our Victorian terraced townhouse in Bristol. Her attention to detail was exemplary and I am thoroughly delighted with the finished product. Her eye for colour is 'spot on' and she went to great lengths to get the exact tone/shade to suit each level of the house. Her knowledge of wallpapers, paints, fabric is wide and stimulating. Our house has been transformed. She coordinated painters, joiners, electricians and other workmen in a patient and encouraging way. She is expert at sourcing stylish and interesting items for instance, light switches, knobs, handles, electric sockets. She is always ready to come up with fresh ideas which are exciting and contemporary. She was always punctual and efficient and worked within our budget. Joyce provides a very flexible service, from a complete makeover to just a discussion and a few pointers as to make the best use of space and light. She uses her intuition as well as her training to explore how spaces will get used and how to display them to their best advantage. I enjoyed working with Joyce and learned a lot from her during our project to refurbise a small grade 2 listed townhouse. Her knowledge of colour and lighting solutions were invaluable, and she had lots of ideas of where to source particular items. She took care and attention to ensure the big ticket items were right. I think her fees were reasonable, and feel it was money well spent. I would certainly use her again.
