Joe was recommended to me for my engagement shoot. I talked with him before hand about what kind of pictures I wanted and how we could plan for them with props. He also asked before hand to check what roughly we would be wearing to make sure he could take the best quality pictures. When I arrived on the day I was incredibly nervous but Joe made me feel relaxed and started with just some casual warm up pictures to get me used to having my photo taken with my fiancé. He should is the pictures every couple of shots to make sure they were what we were wanting. I left feeling so happy and closer with my partner. When we got the pictures back they were everything I could have ever wanted. We had some fun pictures but Joe has also managed to capture true happiness in the pictures without posed smiles. I knew at this moment that I wanted Joe to be my wedding photographer. I cannot recommend joe enough, he is so easy to get on with, profession and his prices are amazing! My partner and I went for a pre-wedding shoot here, and Joe was extremely professional & friendly in his dealings with us. He made sure he communicated in a timely and efficient manner with us, answering all our questions and worries we had even before hand. On the day of the shoot, the environment was okay and we were allowed to play our own music throughout the shoot (which helped us get into a relaxed nd happy mood throughout the shoot). He was also very patient with our outfit changes (which took us some time to get changed). Throughout the session, he helped us with posing properly for each photograph (as we were not sure how to position ourselves most of the time). What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
If it's a professional photograph, then obviously understanding what the customer wants is key. Then it's about knowing your craft, preparing and having a great sense for timing, composition and lighting.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I'd ask, what is your vision for the project, what needs do you have for it and how will the images be used. Knowing these things, together with an idea for time scale and budget, means I can better serve you as a photographer.
What do you love most about your job?
My love of photography has grown over several decades and continues to inspire me, both personally and to improve my craft.
One of the greatest pleasures as a professional photographer, aside from the rush of getting the moment, the light and the composition all spot on, is sharing in the joy a customer has of seeing an image that exceeds their expectations.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I felt I could offer an exceptional service and that it would be a business I'd enjoy growing over many years.
