About

What I do
I have always loved music and have played the guitar since I was 10 years old. I now teach full time in Bradford on Avon, in St Stevens & St Laurence School, and my home studio. I teach all ages and levels, though a majority of students are children and at beginner to intermediate level. I also work as a part time associate lecturer a Bath Spa University where I teach band workshops to musicians, showing them to perform in ensembles together.


Lessons and Rates
I teach Guitar, Bass, Drums and Piano. My rate is currently £15 per lesson, with most students taking a weekly 30 minute lesson. I am competent in all styles, techniques and happy to teach any age. Most of my teaching is based on learning songs, though I also teach improvisation, theory, songwriting, recording and performance. I also put students through exams using the Trinity & Rockschool and syllabus.



My Philosophy
My two main aims are 1: have fun, 2: make progress. The two are symbiotic. I do not believe in learning anything without a purpose. My goal is for me to help my students to become the best person they can be through there instrument and through music. I understand not all of my students may go on to become professional working musicians but all of my students enjoy playing music and receive boosts in self confidence, mental health and accomplishment.
