How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Most garages can be converted, although they will need to be insulated to modern standards and pass building regulations requirements. Occasionally they’ll will require planning permission too, if a new window or door is facing a front highway.
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
You will need planning drawings and then building regulations drawings. Planning is usually an 8 week process and building regulations is usually 5 weeks. Once you have this in place you can get quotes from builders for more accurate pricing.
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
The biggest thing with loft conversions is the head height, once you have supported the floor and put new insulation in you will obviously lose more room, the minimum head height is 2m. Have you got room for a new stair to go somewhere and once again can you maintain the 2m above the existing stair? And maintain the 2m above the new stair?

Most lofts can be done under permitted development, if so you will need building regulations drawings and structural engineers calculations to ensure the design stands up and doesn’t affect the existing house and structure. Once you have these drawings and calcs you can then get prices for your build,

Designing new and exciting projects, I really enjoy doing something contemporary and innovative. It’s always good when clients have open minds for good design.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Working for myself gives me the freedom to design what I want to design and working with people and making their lives better through my designs is an immensely satisfying feeling. Changing the scape of the towns and cities is amazing and enrichening people’s lives.
