The Jam Jar always turns out great cocktails served in a jam jar. Great little place to start or finish the nights drinking. (Also try the pork scratchings and apple sauce they are amazing) More...

Very popular with the 'younger' generation. Outside tables, very friendly staff, great looking menu. If I was here a few days I would try the food. Looks good.

Arranged to come for bottomless brunch but didn’t realise that it needed to be prebooked (something id advise putting on the website) however they accommodated us regardless. The food was excellent and the service was good. Would definitely recommend. More...

Great for brunch and great for drinks. Heat lamps outside so always good to grab the benches by the road. Really well run and super staff! Probably the best bar on Osbourne Road come to think of it More...

We booked well ahead for the evening after the Champions Cup rugby, but they had finished half the food on the menu. So we’ll never be able to tell you about the mussels, the bbq ribs or the rib-eye steaks, all apparently devoured by previous patrons. The real problem was that our waitress didn’t know they were gone until we ordered them, so we got all excited about what was coming and depressed because it didn’t come. And she wasn’t able to manage a smile or a friendly quick fix either. They have interesting craft beers. Smoked salmon, whitebait, fried chicken and nachos all passed our tests successfully. We got the last 3 portions of battered cod, and correctly they weren’t great, considered a bit greasy compared to the best enjoyed during the weekend. All the gourmet burgers were considered exceptionally good. The ambiance is very relaxing and very comfortable, and the heated dehors was much appreciated. The prices were very reasonable and we’ll go back in the hopes of finding the fridge full, and slightly more experienced staff :) More...

Very nice modern place. Went with my girlfriend for brunch and were not pressured to sit down or order quickly as we initially wanted to just look at the menu, breakfast, lovely burger, water, cocktail, coffee = £30

The only bar in Jesmond with good beers and a good vibe. Never tried the food but always had a fantastic drink paired with great chat - something missing from the student bars on Osborne Road.

I made a very last minute booking for a charity group of 15 people on a Saturday lunchtime and the wonderful staff were really accommodating and arranged for us to sit in the cosy snug at the back of the venue for our meeting. The food was great, service was excellent and the place has a great atmosphere. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jam Jar. More...
