Design Consultation
The first step in the process that begins to define the brief, ID:lf can provide expert advice on space planning, design concepts, materials, and finishes. We can help define the project's scope and identify your style preferences and functional needs and even if the full involvement of a designer is strictly necessary.
Space Planning
The foundation of any design, space planning entails analysing the best use of space to achieve a functional and aesthetically pleasing environment. This includes the layout of rooms, placement of furniture, and flow between areas.
Design and Concept Development
Creating detailed design packs that illustrate the intended look and feel. This is expressed through floor plans, mood boards, 2D and 3D renderings, and detailed drawings. This will generally begin as the presentation of a few possible design directions as mood boards and sketches before getting down to the nitty gritty and illustrating the developed design through renders and technical drawings.
Material and Finish Selection
ID:lf can advise on and suggest appropriate materials, finishes, colours, and textures to be used in the space. This includes flooring, wall coverings, paint colours, and cabinetry materials documented in mood boards and schedules.
Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) Selection and Procurment
This ranges from choosing items such as furniture and lighting right down to the kitchen handles and plug sockets and details that will make the space. This can also extend to procurement: managing the ordering, delivery, and installation of materials, furniture, and fixtures so their on site as and when they need to be without you needing that stress.
Lighting Design
Planning and selecting lighting fixtures and layouts that enhance the space's aesthetic appeal, functionality and ultimately define the atmosphere and ambience of the space.
Project Management
Overseeing the project from start to finish to ensure that the design is executed as planned, within budget, and on schedule. This includes coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and other professional so that you don't have to.
Planning and Building Control
ID:lf can prepare the drawings and documents required to satisfy the planning requirements of your LPA and ensure that designs comply with all relevant building regulations for building control sign off.
Photorealistic Renders
Creating highly detailed, realistic images of proposed designs, allowing you to visualize or market the final space before construction begins.
Bespoke Joinery and Fabrication Design
From bars to bookshelves or lights to door handles, ID:lf can provide full design services from concept to shop drawings to realise any bespoke joinery and metal work that your project might need.
