We saw Ian watts and son Caldecott .as we look out of my father I laws flat we lost him in August 2015 we went over to see them and told them what we needed and from then on every thing was taken out of our hands Joanne sorted everything for us and took away our worry so they are a very friendly professional. Sadly my mum passed in August 2015. After several recommendations we approached Ian Watts & Son in Caldicot to provide a funeral service that was fitting for our mum. Joanne and Martin were very approachable and accommodating and put us all at ease. They made mums funeral very personal to us and supported us throughout. Their service didn\'t end there. The aftercare that was given to my dad continued. Joanne introduced my dad to some other widow/ers that they had supported ensuring that my dad wasn\'t lonely. Through this my dad has made several friends and has a better social life than I do.
I can not recommend Ian Watts & Soms highly enough for all the fore mentioned reasons.

Sadly our Dad passed away in July and the service we received during and now after this horrendous part of our lives you'd think that Jo was part of our family

A personal touch service by a true and old school funeral directors.. not out for the quick buck like most in this area.

From the first meeting with Jo I felt at ease. Jo took on the stress and organised it all and she is a real warm kind and caring lady. Today was the service and I just feel I need to share my experience. Martin is absolutely amazing. He guided us on how to be bearers and what to do including the order of entering the church and the crem. Martin is dressed impeccable and is very professional but respectful He does a walk in front of the car and does traditional bows and the sign of the cross which really makes it more touching. This is what really made it special and my late mother would of loved it. Even though they are not the biggest I have proof they are one of the best. So much so my wife has told her mother she will be having Martin and Jo at Ian Watts & Son. More...

An absolutely outstanding service received from Ian Watts & Sons. Cannot recommend them highly enough. Their caring, compassionate & personal service really shone through from the moment we made the first call.
Nothing was ever too much trouble and even when I emailed Jo at 11pm on Saturday night because I had a question that was playing on my mind I got a response within minutes- just brilliant.
Our first meeting with Jo was so relaxed, we were not rushed in any way and the guidance/suggestions she gave us were really helpful. My Nan was worried before the meeting, to the point where she didn't want to be in the room, however, Jo made her feel at ease within minutes and within no time we were all sharing fantastic memories of Walter. My Nan cannot sing your praises enough Jo :)

Amazing service from Jo and Martin. Jo went above and beyond her duty and care for my Mum's funeral arrangements. She was very welcoming, patient and understanding from the first time I met her with my brother. Nothing seemed too much trouble for Jo and we were welcome to visit her at any time or day to talk to her and also to see mum in the chapel of rest. It was as if Jo was an old family friend. The funeral service itself was faultless thanks to Jo and her planning. So many family and friends commented on what a lovely personal service it was celebrating my Mum's life and happy and funny memories. Truly a beautiful experience at a time when all else seems to be falling apart.
Both Jo and Martin were respectful, caring and extremely professional.
My father’s funeral was delayed as I was very poorly but I did not have to worry. Jo sorted everything with dignity. Nothing was too much trouble.
My father was looked after extremely well and I can’t thank Jo and Martin enough.
On the day of my father’s funeral Martin showed the utmost respect. Both he and his team were marvellous. Martin waiting until I was ready to leave the cemetery after everyone else had gone, even offering me his coat when he saw how cold I was.

A day I dreaded saying goodbye to my father and had a lot of anxiety about. I can’t thank Jo and Martin enough for the care, support and compassion they gave me, my nan and family. The Funeral was done so beautifully and was so very meaningful. The attention to detail was outstanding and the respect they showed to us all was truly remarkable. Thank you so very much to Joanne and Martin for all they have done for our family. We cannot put into words our appreciation. They organised everything so well enabling us to focus on our grief and memories rather than logistics. From the moment Nan was collected and taken in to their care, we took comfort in knowing that she was in safe hands with people that we knew and trusted. Both Joanne and Martin have been so professional and kind: taking away so many worries at such a a difficult time.

It was professional, dignified, fun and totally perfect in every way. Nothing was too much trouble. The flowers were exactly what we envisaged, the wicker coffin was beautiful, the regal cars, the pallbearers all wearing purple ties, everything went perfectly. The whole service was one that Nan would have been proud of and enjoyed herself. We appreciate all the time that you took to get to know Nan more. As a family we could not of wished for a better person to do the service or business to use. Its not just a business, you all genuinely care and see it as an honour to carry out people’s final journeys. Its takes special people to do what you both do. I will never forget the sight of Martin walking ahead of the car through the village on such a hot sunny day, as people pruning their gardens and going about their days rose to bow their heads. Incredibly moving, so dignified and respectful.

We hope that we don’t have to use your business again for many years to come (in the nicest possible way!), but if we find ourselves in the situation again, we simply wouldn’t use any other.

What a wonderful service they gave my brother.
I can't recommend them highly enough.
So thought, kind and respectful.
Wonderful company that just did everything and more we needed.

It's really difficult when you lose a loved one but Jo was there every step of the way and didn't even mind when I kept bombarding her with messages.

The whole experience of losing some close to you, suddenly and unexpectedly is a test for any person. I was totally gob smacked by the trauma. So arranging funerals can be the last thing on anyone's mind when faced with this type of trauma. We went to one funeral directors and they wanted to charge nearly £7500 for a very basic funeral. We were directed to Ian Watts and sons where the cost was over half the price.
Jo is a fantastic person, who lovingly takes pride in her job, she's constantly reassuring. Very professional and takes care of everything down to the last detail. My brother passed away at the beginning of September 2017 and we chose to use Ian Watts and Sons. the service we received was fantastic Jo was caring and considerate nothing was too much trouble.
Martin turned up this morning to lead the funeral and his presence was greatly appreciated very professional and discrete.
I cannot recommend this firm highly enough as the service received was first class compared to the service I received for my mothers 3 years ago from another firm and the price was a lot less than I had previously paid More...

My family were devastated by the death of our dear father. The care and wonderful attention Ian & Jo give in helping us with every tiny detail of my father's funeral at a time of such terrible heartache was second to none. The customer service was exceptional and they went above and beyond to help us in every which way they possibly could. My mum passed away Christmas eve 2016 after a 12 month battle with cancer. I was in shock confused and unable to think straight. The service and personal help and guidance I received was priceless and best of all the kindness was for real and not marketing to get more money! My mums main send off was in cornwall with a simple cremation at the Forest of Dean. I had help with a reading as I wasn't up to it.
