About

It is true to say that “Life is a journey” and we will all experience it in our own unique way. Without doubt we will encounter stress and distress and try to find our own method of managing it. However, life can be challenging at the best of times and sometimes we simply struggle to cope with what life throws at us, let alone deal with it.

Q&As

There is nothing more rewarding in my role as a counsellor than to see people transform into their happier selves and once again become the people they want to be... happier ones.

I became a counsellor because I have been on the receiving end of it. I have had my fair share of being the client and I truly believe in the literally, life saving benefits it can have. It can be very difficult to seek help with our life struggles but the sense of relief and having a weight lifted can be life changing.

It's been a privilege to have journeyed with my past clients through their traumatic times in life. I'd like to say a heart felt thank you to all of you and thank you to those who have allowed me to share some of their thoughts and feelings about how counselling has impacted their lives, moving them closer towards their happier future. Here are some of their new beginnings...

Tom - 60 years
"I can thoroughly recommend Ingrid as a counsellor. She helped me through a very difficult time and as a result of her gently probing sessions I was enabled to see that I have more choices in life than I had realised. Ingrid is an acute listener and helped me to hear how the way I speak reflected my negative feelings about myself. More than this, Ingrid helped me to change the way I feel about my life and the world. Thank you!”

J. R. - 23 years
“Ingrid was a very insightful, respectful, and professional Counsellor. She helped me think about questions that I hadn't thought of that led me to a much more happier and stable outlook on myself and my life. She didn't give me a lecture on how I should help myself, but through talking things out and bringing another perspective on things, was able to help me help myself truly. I am very pleased to recommend her service."

Gemma - 32 years
“Ingrid I am eternally grateful for the time you gave me. The help you provided will help me for a lifetime. Thank you so much for your kindness and expertise. I now have hope that I will learn to love myself and move forward from my childhood".

Henry - 23 years
"I called Ingrid at a difficult time, at first I was very sceptical about the whole therapy thing. Never the less Ingrid explained and planned everything. As our sessions progressed Ingrid helped me through my path making me see myself and my close family and friends in a different light. Moving towards the end of my sessions we explored ways for me to deal with anxiety and stress and overcome these problems.
I would thoroughly recommend Ingrid as she helped me over come and conquer my path teaching me to manage self-worth and gain confidence. Ingrid has been great. Never once felt uncomfortable when in our sessions."

Jess - 21 years
"When I started having sessions with Ingrid I was at a really low point in my life. She supported me through some very difficult decisions, gave me guidance, coping techniques and reassurance. She has had such a positive impact on my outlook on life and helped me to find my own happiness. She is an inspirational woman and I am forever grateful for the sessions we had together."

Less - 76 years
"I visited Ingrid a few times and found her very professional and understanding. I would recommend her very highly."

Sarah - 41 years
" I highly recommend Ingrid for anyone who, like me, has hit a low point and can't see a way forward. Ingrid worked with me and helped me identify who I truly am. She has helped me managed my anxiety by helping me to understand the hidden triggers from past trauma and by providing me with some invaluable breathing techniques. I encourage anyone who is wondering if counselling is right for them to take the first step and give Ingrid a call. I am so thankful I did and its the best investment in myself I have ever made."

Ella - 29 years
“I was a client of Ingrid's for just over a year and cannot thank her enough. When I started my weekly sessions I was in a desperate place but with Ingrid's help and non-judgemental ear I am now in a position to return to full-time work for the first time in over three years. With Ingrid as my sounding board for worries about both the past and the future I found the confidence to work on sorting myself out and I will always be grateful for our sessions. I am constantly recommending her to friends!”

Lisa - 46 years
“I came to you nearly four years ago. Through your time and commitment, sitting and listening to me, on a more or less weekly basis, questioning my thoughts and beliefs, mostly listening so I could hear them so that I could hear what I was saying. I was angry and occasionally wanted to run. I found some compassion for me. Today I am alive. Today I am good enough for me. I don’t just say that, I believe that. Today I am alive and loving life today. Today I am looking forward to the challenges life will bring.
Thank you for giving me the time I needed. One of the biggest gifts life has given me was you. My soul thanks you. I know you will have an amazing future helping people, listening to them to find their better selves. When I think of you I will always be filled with gratitude. We did it !

Arvey - 37 years
"I had recently finished rehab for substance misuse and started having counselling with Ingrid. We worked together for three years. The sessions I have had with Ingrid have helped me grow into a stronger and better person. I am able to deal with everyday life and no longer need to pick up a drink or use drugs. My counselling sessions with Ingrid have helped me accept my past and I am able to move forward with my life. I could not be where I am today without these counselling sessions with Ingrid. I know she's always there if I need help. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Ingrid for all the counselling sessions I've had with her. She has helped me deal with all the struggles I used to have in my life. I have recommended Ingrid in the past and will continue to do so."

Reece - 22 years
"Ingrid really helped me through my counselling, she provided a very good service, was incredibly helpful and understanding and made me think of things from a different perspective which was very helpful. I really don’t know where I’d be without her help, I cannot thank her enough, honestly. I would highly recommend if you’re looking into starting counselling to give her a call or text, you won’t regret it. Thank you Ingrid."

Laura - 28 years
"I came to Ingrid through a recommendation and was at a very dark point and didn’t know if I even wanted to commit to the counselling. I’m so glad I did as Ingrid truly saved me. I’d mostly been coping and didn’t ever see myself getting to the person I am now. But with Ingrid’s patience, kindness and honesty, I’m alive. I reflect on my time with Ingrid and it’s helped shape the way I now deal with emotions and situations and I feel incredibly proud of myself and my strength. I’ll be forever grateful to Ingrid for guiding me towards the happiness I am capable of having. "

Rebecca - 20 years
“Thank you very much for all your help and support over the past few months. You are a very inspirational woman and I feel I have become a stronger person because of my counselling sessions. It’s been an honour working with you. All the best for the future”.

Andy - 46 years
“I began my counselling whilst finishing a 6 month residential treatment programme to help me understand my substance misuse issues. I felt the need for counselling to continue looking at my past addiction issues and general life issues combined with some behavioural and thinking patterns that I had developed throughout my addiction. I think that Ingrid is a very competent counsellor and over a year and a half of working with her I received a high level of counselling which gave me a great opportunity to look at my past behaviours and thinking and correct them accordingly and put new tools into action in my ongoing recovery. I have felt the benefits and continue to have a positive life, and get the rewards of recovery from substance misuse. It was a privilege to work with Ingrid and a positive experience from start to finish. I appreciate the challenges and feedback I received from Ingrid which enabled me to grow and develop through our working relationship.”

Sam - 26 years
"My experience of counselling for the very first time was a very positive experience. I emailed Ingrid and we had a phone call to discuss the best course of action. This gave me an idea of what to expect and the call in itself was therapeutic. Personally I only needed a couple of sessions to feel better about my anxiety. Ingrid helped me feel so much better about myself and my issues at the time. I'd thoroughly recommend her to anyone seeking help."

Aaron - 30 years
"Ingrid was my councillor for a few months, and from leaving the very first session I felt instantly lighter. I was surprised at the level of insight a person I had never met before could have on the way my brain worked and how I thought about things, it gave me a completely new perspective on a lot of things. Before counselling I used to block out everything, whether good or bad which led to a feeling of numbness. As a result of the weekly sessions, it taught me how to do deal with issues/life as it happens, meaning I can feel emotions both positive and negative more than I have done in years. Generally I feel a lot happier and better in myself and a lot of that is down to counselling with Ingrid. Thanks again, Aaron "
