What do you love most about your job?
Collaborating and hearing people's ideas and new ways of living that encourage me to design in different ways to accommodate each person, couple or family. I love seeing the direct result of positive design on my clients. Seeing how happy they are with their homes and how it improves their mental health, wellbeing and enjoyment of their homes so much more than before is extremely rewarding.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I no longer felt like I was making an impact on people's lives the way I wanted or aspired to in large and commercial companies. From starting to work on smaller homeowner projects, I also spotted that there is not much help or guidance offered for homeowners and this is not fair. I set up my own business to try help tackle this gap and we are currently working on developing a platform to make this even easier for homeowners across the UK.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I am happy to provide services remotely but it is easier and cheaper for me to be able to visit the property to carry out a survey myself. If this is not possible I am more than happy to arrange a survey to be carried out by someone else so we can work up the design from your existing home.
Architectural Services
We help you develop your brief for your home as well as how to design it for your needs and your budget.
This often includes video calls, on site visits to your home and sharing sketch layouts and producing architectural drawings to ensure everything fits and is compliant for planning.
We can help with budgets and even if you want to re-use or reclaim items to be more circular and budget friendly.
Planning Submissions & Council Liaison
This service generally overlaps with architectural design for house renovations. We will guide you through your options in line with local guidance and rules to ensure you understand what is allowed and which routes there are to achieve consent.
Once we have completed your designs and drawings, we will submit the application for you as well as liaise with the council throughout whenever they may have queries or additional requests to ensure we give you the best chance of winning approval.
Sketch Design/ Early Ideas
If you are not sure if you are ready to get a full measured survey and architectural services yet - we also offer an initial design service where we can help you work out your brief for your home as well as sharing ideas and sketch layouts for you to consider before taking next steps.
In-house Structural Engineer
We work closely with our own structural engineers and so once your designs are ready we are able to give affordable quotes for structural calculations which are required for lofts, extensions and any other structural works to your building.
We are also able to work with you and our structural engineer to source re-claimed steel through our industry contacts, which can offer a cost saving as well as less embodied carbon as part of your project - ultimately contributing to a more circular design.
Contractor Connection & Tender Services
We also work very closely with many Contractors across London and can help you through the tender process getting quotes, understanding them, and how to choose the right builder.
On-Site /Management Services
If you want help/ support when on site with your builder - we can be your phone a friend and offer a package with a set number of visits and hours over the course of your construction works. This is to offer support where the contractor may ask you questions your want second opinions on or have no idea about - you can call us. We also can make visits to site to ensure things are being built according to plan.
