Booked a little last minute and paid a little extra for a deluxe room as really wanted a sea view. ||||On arrival into the room we both said wow and there's not many hotel rooms we've said that in. Room 209 has huge bay windows with an amazing seaview, pretty much 180 degree view. Back in the room, the bed is huge and we loved the sitting area, the room was huge and certainly felt like a mini suite. ||||Dinner was good, we chose to sat in the bar, beer lovely. ||||The morning was just as amazing though, we slept with the curtains open and you could see the sea from the bed, pretty cool and all for same price as a typical premier inn room.||||Breakfast too was nice too sitting with the same view although I wasn't a fan of the sausages but plenty of alternatives. ||||Really didn't want to leave this morning but will be back! The 'Sunday Special' deal offered my wife and I two three-course meals, cream tea, a (very comfortable and spacious) room for the night and breakfast on Monday morning for little more than the price of B & B - truly excellent value for money. Because we really didn't have room for cream tea between breakfast and dinner on Sunday, the ever-helpful staff agreed to defer this element until after we had checked out of our room on Monday morning and we enjoyed the tea, jam, cream and scones in the lounge at lunchtime on Monday. This was my first visit to the hotel and it was a lovely experience. Three of us ladies were booked in for afternoon tea which was delicious. What a smart hotel this is as are the staff, immaculately dressed with impeccable manners. Nothing was too much trouble. The areas are beautiful and tastefully decorated and the tables are nicely spaced. Location was perfect and the bar areas were updated and vibrant, we were impressed with them. Booked a sea view room and the views were fab. However, the room was a little dated and old which was a shame really, this was the only thing in my view that i could find fault with. Staff were friendly and helpful and the Breakfast was great. Can only comment on the small part I saw yesterday.I attended a craft fair which was well run and attended. Thinking of going back when an event isn't on for a bite to eat, so the event has had the desired effect.

Had a 2 day break staff as usual were charming and helpful. The bar and dining room have been tastefully decorated. Views of Lowestoft South beach from the dining room are beautiful. Have just got married at this hotel and must compliment everybody how smoothly the whole day went. From the planning stage through to the finished item we always had the help and guidance of Rachel. From sorting out the menus to booking of rooms. Nothing was ever to much. On the day, the car arrived for the bride, a very pleasant meet and greet area in the hotel and the ceremony which was held outside was also decorated well. The main meal was held in a well laid out room. The excellent food was served by very professional staff. Not one complaint by any guests only compliments. A very good and well laid out buffet was had later in the evening. The rooms that were booked for the overnight stay, together with the breakfast, once again received excellent compliments from everybody. My daughter has a wedding arranged here next October and although we liked the hotel when we were looking round last year, we had never actually tried the food, so we thought a year before she gets married we’d give it a go and wow are we glad we did. |The decor in the restaurant is really nice and bright, the two staff who served us were excellent and the food well what can I say , its was amazing, from my ham hock, to the duck for starters and the duo of pork to the steak, everything was cooked and presented lovely and the dessert wow cheesecake to the bread and butter pudding, fantastic.|So if you are looking for some where different give it a go, you,won’t be disappointed. Very good stay at the hotel and service and staff excellent.||The decor of the downstairs areas are lovely. And the food served was also to a very good standard. ||The rooms and bathrooms are a little dated (although exceptionally comfortable) but I believe these are gradually being done up. All in all excellent value for money and I would recommend a stay there if visiting Lowestoft. More...

We stayed in room 209 10-13 Oct. it was a delux room and lived up to its name. Spacious , adequately furnished ( some getting little tiered ) loads of storage space and huge walk in shower. The sea view was amazing. Big comfie bed. Spotlessly clean.||We ate in the Restaurant twice , once with a party of eight, the food was excellent, all served together , all hot, good portions and excellent value for money. ||Breakfast was selected from menu and cooked to order,Brilliant, hot and plenty.||The staff, without exception were exemplary. Smart, clean and very well mannered in a friendly way. Well trained in all aspects. Restaurant and Bar recently refurbished and very comfortable.||Highly recommend. More...

What more could you ask for?! This hotel is excellent all round - location, the staff and the quality of their food and all really reasonably priced especially when you consider the hotel is on the beautiful Lowestoft seafront. It really is lovely to simply watch over the beach and sea whilst you eat breakfast. We also reserved one of the beach huts within the hotel for our evening meal and the children loved this and it was perfect to spend our evening in. Having seen other positive reviews on TA, walked along the beach and then up here. Prime location with fabulous views. This would seem to be a traditional hotel which is being progressively and imaginatively renovated by the enthusiastic young owner. Can only speak for the bar and Coast Restaurant where we had drinks and lunch. Very friendly service from long established waiting staff. The Fish Sharing Platter was copious and tasty at £27 for two. Delicious starters (ham hock terrine and smoked duck breast). Only had room to share a dessert (battenburg cheesecake)! Good value wines by the glass. Seemed popular with local regulars, always a good sign. Look forward to coming back. More...

80th Birthday meal, bank holiday Monday, 26 of us (large table!) the hotel looked after us and the other guests fantastically. The food was delicious and very good quality including the specially requested gluten and dairy free options (very impressed). The staff are a real credit to the Hotel, they went the extra mile for us and nothing was too much trouble. 10 of us stayed for one night. We had a sea view room and what a view especially watching the sunrise in the morning. Room was clean and comfortable. The bar was nicely decorated and catered for larger parties. The breakfast was very good with so many choices from cooked to continental breakfast also with a sea view.
