Having visited numerous times as we live local i have heard a few bad things about the hotel recently so was cautious. But we were given vouchers for christmas so thought we would head on over. We were not disappointed. Wonderful meal and the staff couldn't do enough. As others have mentioned the drinks are a little over priced but if you sign up to the reward scheme you get discounts (10% this month) so not too bad (£60 for a 2 course meal for 2 with a couple of drinks each). This hotel is just purely and simply AMAZING!! From the hotel itself to the staff that work there...it is just an exceptional place! Me and my husband had our wedding here last year, and from the day of booking to the wedding day itself and everything in between, nothing was too much hassle for Michelle and her team. We have also visited the restaurant recently for Sunday lunch and yet again the food and the service from all the staff was second to none! Went here last night with my wife and I must say had a fantastic night, one of the best in a long time
The entertainment the food the rooms was brilliant and well worth the money,
All the staff was amazing and couldn't do enough for us.
A special thanks to the manager who took time out for us and had a really good chat

My dad and his wife got married here yesterday and due to weather conditions it made it slightly more difficult. The staff could not have done enough for us all and was fantastic in accounting for what needs we acquired. The staff was pleasant and friendly, the staff all worked hard to make the grounds safe and the food was brilliant! I would just like to say a special thankyou though to Ryan! I have a 4 year old son who was massively playing up! Ryan went out his way to get him some sweets and kinder eggs and my child turned from the devil to an angel! From start to finish the staff at Van Dyke Hotel couldn’t have done more. Although weddings are something they do often, they made both me and my wife feel as though it was the most special day. The food was faultless and the morning breakfast was just as good. All the staff were helpful and attentive - even took part in dancing during the night. Would definitely recommend. More...

I've had several meals here and the service has always been excellent, however today they were exceptional! I'd booked in very last minute for Sunday lunch and was in a rush. A lovely gentleman ensured we were seated and had our meal with time to spare. I can highly recommend the Sunday roast too! Unfortunately I didn't have time for dessert. We got married at Van Dyk's 3 years ago, our wedding day was perfect, the staff were friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our wedding co-ordinator Michelle was fantastic and felt like she was more of a friend at our wedding than a staff member. We have since been back a number of times including my first mother's day! Today we have returned from a Sunday lunch with my little girl for our 3 year anniversary and bumped in to Michelle & it was so nice to see her again. Great place, food is fantastic! I attended the rocky horror tribute act which unfortunately had to be cancelled once everyone had arrived. Despite this, the staff and manager worked hard to get a replacement act for the night. This replacement was fine with me, however some people would have liked an option for their money back rather than a drinks voucher. Other than that the hotel was very clean, organised and the staff were very friendly! The bar was extremely overpriced and I would like a choice of starter and desert for the £29 I paid! We had our wedding here and I cannot say enough how amazing all the staff are. It is a stunning venue and the food was amazing. .. all our guests commented on how good all of the food was! I recently had the opportunity to go to Van Dyke's as a guest organised by Bluebell Wood Families.. A 3 course Carvery Buffet and an evening of entertainment from the Temptations Tribute act.
. Both, myself and my wife rarely get out as a couple at the moment so making the most of night like these is a must, and oh boy, was we entertained.. I can honestly say it was one of the best night out we had for a long while. Well done to Van Dykes and thank you very much to Ewen Laycock for such a great opportunity.
We will definitely be going back for more of the same... Eye Spy an evening with Elvis on the agenda..

Tom and I held our wedding ceremony and reception here on Saturday 31st March 2018 and were not disappointed!
We had our ceremony in the Bowden Suite and wedding breakfast and evening disco in the Ballroom.
From the very start where we first met with Michelle the wedding and events manager enquiring about wedding packages and availability Van Dyk couldn't have been more attentive! This continued throughout our future meetings and visits to the open evenings and wedding fares Van Dyk offer to the public.
Michelle and her team were organised, friendly, helpful and the attention to detail was impeccable. It really shows how much the team love what they do! We saw Michelle as our friend and enjoyed getting to know her.
The day ran smoothly and on time, nothing was rushed. The team serving food and drink were friendly and professional, the room was decorated to perfection and the food was simply delicious. Our guests commented on the quality of the food to us!! We could not fault anything about the day!
The well kept grounds provided lovely areas for photographs, even though the weather was not so much on our side but did brighten up in the early afternoon! We also had some lovely photographs captured within the hotel too.
We stayed the night in the honeymoon suite which was well kept and luxurious, our parents and close family members stayed at the hotel too and said that the rooms were lovely as too was the breakfast!
We would highly recommend this hotel as a fabulous wedding venue. Michelle and her team created a stress free, very special day for us with memories we will treasure for a lifetime. Thank you Hotel Van Dyk for making our special day perfect! We shall be back soon!
