What makes a great website?
A great website depends on what the client (you) is looking to get out of it. I have customers who want an online presence just so people can view their company online, some customers who need their website to promote their business and draw in new clients.
It really depends on the person. But generally it is important that a website is responsive, i.e. it works on multiple devices. Most people use their mobile devices to view web pages so being able to navigate the website on a small touch screen device is important.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Generally I will ask what type of business or idea do you have?
What do you need your website to achieve, new customers? Online presence?
Do you have a design style in mind?
Do you have a domain name?
Describe your creative process.
1. Find out what the client is looking for. Ask a client what they need the website to achieve. Do they have any designs in mind. Create quote based on clients requirements.
2. Create a 1st design draft and present to the client.
3, Receive feedback and make changes.
4. Produce 2nd draft and receive feedback.
5. Once client is 100% happy with the design I will finish the development.
6. Website will go live.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Any information regarding the business or idea.
Any design styles they have.
Any colour schemes and logo's they have.
