Stayed here for 3 nights in December. Nice hotel, welcoming staff. Good bar and dining area. Staff all very friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable although could do with a little bit of an update. Not many power sockets and no USB charging in the room.Overall I would rate this hotel highly - my only gripe was location. It was about 4.5 miles out of Milton Keynes which was a nightmare to get in/out of during rush hour. What should have been a 10-15 minute journey was taking >45 minutes. More...

After reading a number of negative reviews on TripAdvisor about the hotel I was rather sceptical about staying but I need not have worried. On arrival I was impressed with the attractive main Georgian building and surrounding grounds. I only had to wait a few minutes before being checked in. I was recognised as a IHG Spire Ambassador and offered welcome amenity points. I asked if there were any upgrades available for being a Spire member; there was and I was upgraded to a Junior Suite.||The Pagoda Suite was on the second floor in the main Georgian building and had a nice view of the inner courtyard below. The suite comprised bedroom, large bathroom and separate sitting room. What I liked was the homely feel to the suite, there were a lot of facilities including a mini-fridge, 2 x flat screen TVs as well as a nespresso machine as well as other perks. I also liked the freestanding full length mirror in the sitting room. The only niggle was the lack of plug sockets and the sockets I could find were not easily accessible.||The decor throughout and especially in common areas including the conservatory, bar and restaurant is of the highest standard giving those areas an elegant feel. Getting to the hotel by car is straightforward as the hotel is a few minutes drive from M1 Junction 14 and there are plenty of parking spaces. It is not so easy without a car, the only viable option is by taxi. There are bus stops either side of the hotel but not recognised by bus drivers. I was lucky because the bus driver dropped me off at the hotel entrance. Everything was just perfect, could not be better. Recption staff were more than helpful but sorry I did not get their names. A young man Saturday when we arrived brouggt me water immediately when I could not find it and showed me the nearest way to bridal suite. I stayed for a business trip for 5 nights and overall, I was extremely pleased with my stay. |The staff were always very polite and helpful. I was recommended room 32 by the front of house staff and it was courtyard facing and relatively quiet. The fire doors on the first floor are very loud and did disturb me sometimes but due to the design, that can’t be helped. |The fitness suite is average - it’s small but was quiet so I was able to use the handful of machines in there without any trouble. |I ate food in the bar most evenings and it was very good. Most nights the kitchen didn’t have all the ingredients to complete my dish of choice however were always substituted without an issue. |Hotel is in the ideal location if needing to travel to Cranfield University, which is 10mins away. | More...

We held our wedding reception at the hotel for 50 day guests and over 100 evening guests. We visited the venue during a wedding fair and were instantly enamored by both the venue and staff. The planners were very accommodating and tailored our wedding according to the budget and the cost was very reasonable. The chef provided us with a taster menu and took our feedback and amended the menu accordingly without any fuss. Attended a wedding here which was really well orchestrated: Room rate was excellent, the actual room was of the standard I’d expect for a 4 star hotel, really good decor, spacious and design. Excellent marriage of the old building with the new interior. The service was excellent, my only complaint was the bar service was really poor from mid day to the evening - no staff or long waits. Would have expected them to arrange cover for this knowing a wedding was on. The bar prices were very high but no different to other Holiday Inns so this was expected. The range of draughts really let this place down - 2 beers (Stella and Becks Vier), 1 IPA and Aspall. There was definitely a problem with their pumps because all four required them to have to drain off huge amounts of foam. This was the only let down. Ordered lunch was a bit surprised by the 45 minute wait for eggs benedict but it was delicious when it arrived. More...

The hotel and the staff were brilliant. I checked in late to the hotel, around 5.30am, and the staff were brilliant. They had everything ready for me. Even before my arrival, they were so friendly and helpful. They advised me the best taxis to use and assured me that it was fine arriving in the early hours. They were very welcoming.The room was excellent and the bed was the best I've slept in. It was so comfy. The shower was excellent and very powerful. And the sofa in the room, was also really comfy.The grounds are stunning and quiet. I didn't expect this as it's near the motorway. But it is in the country with a field out the back. It's incredibly relaxing.When booking, the lady on the phone told me about a better rate than I had seen online. So I used that one. It was really lovely of her.It really was an excellent visit. Very convenient, just off the M1, but with a rural feel to it.Staff friendly but the building is a little tired.Didn't take breakfast or have any food there. The stays I have had here have restored my faith in IHG after terrible treatment by a CP which I have tried disputing. This is an excellent Hotel made exceptional by staff and service. The best of welcomes and lovely acknowledgements of IHG status, such as free Starbucks in the morning :-) A great way to leave for work!Mike is always exceptional in his friendly attitude and ability to help with anything - even finding my handbag which I didn't miss for nearly 2 weeks! What a fabulous IHG Manager he would make and teach some CP Hotels enthusiastic attitude/teamwork skills, great communication and customer management ability.Gabby when i walked in for breakfast a couple of weeks since last stay remembered I wasn't interested in food, just to take some cereal and as I mentioned a Starbucks she said 'Large Skinny Decaf Latte' as before! Stayed here for the first time last weekend while visiting relatives in Northampton. The hotel is in a lovely location and was very peaceful and relaxing during our stay. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very enjoyable. The barman and waiter in the restaurant were both friendly and efficient. Breakfast was hot and cold buffet style in a relaxed atmosphere with a good selection to choose from. Both Reece and Neil on reception made us feel welcome and were friendly and helpful.
