Holiday Inn Haydock

My wife and I are senior citizens from the USA, vacationing in England.  We needed a hotel along the M6 roadway on a Tuesday night in June.  This hotel was very good.  The property feels something like a suburban office campus with plentiful, well-maintained greenery and landscaping, creating a relaxing vibe from the start.  Parking was free and convenient.  The room was small but the bathroom was very nice.  Our TV remote did not work but the staff replaced it immediately with no fuss.  The staff is super friendly and helpful.  The lobby, bar and restaurant are large spaces with lovely mid-century furnishings.  The common areas in the building are airy, bright and cheerful.  Most impressive is the pool with jacuzzi and locker rooms.  The pool complex is outstanding and large, one of the best hotel pools I have seen.  The interior of the hotel is fully updated and the atmosphere is calming.  We paid 118 British Pounds for one night, including the extra cost for breakfast, and I think it's a fair price for what you get.  Highly recommended.
