We had a lovely 1 night stay at the heritage hotel.||Lovely, spotless massive room with an amazing sea view and very comfy beds. Tea and coffee facilities were plentiful!!||Big shower in en-suite with hot water which you dont get everywhere!!||The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the bar was lively and buzzing.||we had the continental breakfast which was lovely and there was loads to choose from.||Would definitely come back!! Cannot fault the staff always helpful and polite our room was spotless nice buffet breakfast.I didn’t really like having to go through the bar to our room or a back entrance which even though it is lit it is still quite dark in places

Had a 2 night stay here. Overall the hotel was amazing, the lady who booked us in was great too, nothing was too much for her. Food was decent. The room we had was sea facing with great views, it was a big size too. The kiddies loved the pool. The local area i found was not good for children, weather wasnt good either, sea was always usually in...but the fact the hotel had the pool keot the children happy for an hour. A very pleasant stay at the hotel, having read a few reviews about the hotel before hand, I found it to be more than adequate for a one night stay and could have happily stayed here for more than one night. Room was a very good size with two beds, one double and one single, the double was very comfortable. I was back late, so it wasnt an issue for me, but being on the ground floor and situated very close to the on site restaurant, which was quite loud, I can see some people may have an issue sleeping early, particularly in summer months with windows open, etc. The hotel has a gym (which looked reasonable) and a pool (which I didnt see). They offer a complimentary continental breakfast which is unlimited and has plenty to offer. You can order hot food for an extra fee, but I found the complimentary offering more than enough. Overall Id definitely recommend the hotel. It is situated up a hill, so if you plan to walk, save some energy for the walk back up to it! More...

I have no complaints with the staff. All friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious. The towels and linen were clean. The hotel is a little run down and could benefit from a small refurb. I had a room on the ground floor (room 5), and could hear when the people in the room above were moving about due to the floorboards creaking. I could hear the shower and the tv from the room next door. I had to have the curtains closed most of the time, as there was access to the back of the building right past my window. The continental breakfast was a little lacking, just cereals, toast, pastries and yoghurts available. Coffee was good though. A lovely little hotel by the sea front in Torquay. If you plan to drive, get there at a reasonable time as the car park is quite small and fills up very quickly. ||I stayed one night before a wedding and found the room to be of a very good size with a double and single bed, bathroom was equally spacious with a great shower (I'm 6'6 and didn't have to duck down for a change!) The only negative I could see with the downstairs rooms, particularly in the summer months with windows open, is that the hotel restaurant is open quite late and can be quite loud, so anyone wishing to sleep early, may want to request a room on a higher floor. This wasn't an issue for me as I was out until late anyway. ||The hotel has an onsite pool and gym, I didn't use either unfortunately, but did see the gym which seemed a reasonable size for the size of hotel. ||Breakfast is a complimentary, unlimited continental breakfast, with hot food available for an extra fee (not always clear at the booking stage) but I found the complementary offering to be more than adequate. ||Staff are excellent and very friendly. ||Location is fantastic, right on the sea front, but is up quite a steep hill (like most of Torquay!) so walking back up can be fun after a few drinks! The town centre is a short walk along the sea front road, which is great when the sun is out. ||All in all, a very pleasant stay and if I'm ever in need of a hotel in the Torquay area again, I would have no hesitation staying here again.
