About

My name is Craig Wilson. Originally from Northern Ireland, I now offer individual and couples counselling to adults (18 & over) from my new hometown of Edinburgh.

I work from the belief that we are all capable of growing, finding our own resources and moving forward, regardless of the headwinds that we face.

Q&As

All counsellors should provide a calm and safe environment and listen attentively and non-judgementally. Really, one of the most important factors beyond these basics, is having a good therapeutic relationship with your counsellor.

A client should choose who they are drawn to, who they feel comfortable with and can trust. Our personalities, experiences and issues influence what we seek from a therapist at a particular time. For example: comfort, challenge, a peer, an elder?

I welcome a short introductory phone call to help answer any questions and so potential clients can begin to get a feel for me. Beyond that, it can sometimes take a few sessions to fully build a working depth of rapport, but there is never any obligation to continue if the fit just isn't right for what you need.

For those who feel that I am someone they would like to work with, I look forward to inviting you into my practice. For those who feel someone else is better suited, that is great too: I wish you the very best on your healing journey.

I do not currently provide online services. I am looking to add this in the future and will update when it becomes available.

The rooms have hand sanitiser available and both fabric and hard surface disinfectants are used between each session. The rooms are large enough that we can sit 2 metres apart. We ask that masks be worn when entering or leaving the building but can be removed in the counselling room.

Services

50 minutes of in-person counselling for individuals, costing £50.

Some find one or two sessions is all they need. Others may prefer extended counselling over a number of months. Most people will begin to feel benefits between 4-6 sessions. There is no obligation. We will discuss your expectations and goals for therapy at the beginning and monitor your requirements as we progress.

70 minutes of in-person counselling for 2 adults costing £65. While commonly called 'couples counselling' this service can also be useful for any strained relationship between friends, family members, colleagues or business partners.
