I was recommended H&S to do my kitchen extension. I’ve had some work done in the past and have been let down by builders so I was cautious when choosing builders to do these works. From day one H&S were friendly and helpful, I knew I’d made the right choice. Their team are highly skilled and reliable, easy to talk to and they involved me with every stage of build to make sure that I was happy. Q&As

Most garages are suitable for a conversion, however its the building regs drawing which you require to get the correct U-Values.

U-Values are provide by insulation required for floors, walls and ceiling. Also windows and doors you install.

1. Remove existing floor

2. Remove existing garage door.

3. If Garage door removal is require. Excavate new foundation for new brickwork to be install.

4. Install new celotex floor insulation.

5. Install new concrete floor over new celotex insulation

6. Allow for install of 65mm screed

7. Install 4 x 2 to existing walls for new celotex install to be installed.

8. Install celotex instaltion to roof joist.

9. Install new service, mechanical and electrical 1st fix.

10. Plasterboard all area required.

11. Install new windows/doors

12. Plaster new plasterboarded area's

13. Second fix services. Mechanical and electrical.

14. Install new carpentry item, skirting, architraves, doors, flooring etc.

15. Paint and decorate

Most houses can be suitable depending on the purpose they require.

I would also recommend looking down the street to see if neighbours have had a loft conversion.

Always check the planning portal from the local council as that will also give you an item of the room lay-out.
