I recently attended the most fantastic wedding of my niece. Glenbervie was amazing from start to finish. We were greeted with smiling staff saying welcome to Glenbervie. First impressions were carried out through the day as staff were polite, helpful and courteous. |The hotel was spotless, fresh and airy. We got married at Glenbervie in January 2019. From start to finish, Jan, Pat and the team did an excellent job by making us feel special, secure and at ease. We planned the wedding from London and the team were always available to answer our many questions and were flexible with various meetings and calls. The venue itself was elegant yet intimate and was able to cater for 130 guests comfortably. We also had a smaller family dinner the night before, which was all catered for onsite, as well as having hired the Coach House for additional guests to stay in. When we had looked at review originally, the main piece of negative feedback was that the house was cold. However, with temperatures outside around freezing, we felt warm and comfortable inside. ||We genuinely had the best day of our lives and that wouldn't have been possible without the help of everybody at Glenbervie. We would highly recommend this as a venue.||The team led the day seamlessly and made us feel so secure and special.||We will miss our phone calls and will keep the venue in mind for any future celebrations. Once on the open day and once at our three month meeting. We aren’t from Falkirk so everything was done over the phone/email. I was never made to feel like I was a bother when I had all these questions, last minute changes and generally just keeping in touch. Not one email went unanswered and the planning went smoothly. I hadn’t met the manager, Jan, until the day before the wedding, but what a diamond. The whole team were fantastic, Jan is quite clearly amazing at what she does. The venue itself is just stunning, everyone has commented on the standard of food and how it was the best meal they've had at a wedding! The atmosphere was just amazing all weekend and that was down to the staff. I can’t recommend the Glenbervie enough to anyone that is thinking of having their wedding there! We held our wedding here on 10th March. We went for the weekend package Friday-Sunday using all the bedrooms and holding our wedding on Saturday. ||I will quickly get the little amount of bad points out the way (totally minor and did not have an effect on our weekend just little pointers that could have improved it). Ask for the heating to get put on well in advance. We arrived Friday lunch time and we still had our jackets on at dinner Friday night. A few guests kept their jackets on during the wedding meal and Sunday breakfast as the whole building is pretty cold ! ||We asked for some cake and buffet to be kept aside for us after the wedding but it didnt happen so we didnt get any cake or buffet after a long day. Ask for the bath to be run as late as possible. We went upstairs about 1.30am and the bath was cold so we didnt get to use it. And lastly out rooms didnt get turned round so beds werent made or clean towels all weekend.||||Anyway.....what an amazing wedding ! Everybody commented on how beautiful the food was and how lovely the staff were from start to finish. Apart from not getting food set aside the day went flawlessly and could not recommend more as a place to hold your wedding. We had Jayne, Sharon and Jan looking after us and they could not of been more lovely and accommodating. Never took long getting back to us and always happy to help.||||We wish we could do it all again! Special thanks to Adam (bar/waiting staff) who probably regretted giving us his name on Friday as we we always went to him if we needed anything and he was so helpful and happy. We had our wedding reception at Glenbervie and it was a fantastic day. The house and grounds are stunning and there were lots of good spots to get photographs . The main room looked great and all of our guests had a great time. The Glenbervie team on the day, led by Jan, we’re fantastic - helpful, friendly and attentive. ||The meal was delicious (with the haggis starter that we’d chosen being a wrong favourite with all of the guests). We chose the slightly more expensive wine option (not quite the basic one) and it seemed to pay off - we both drank the white wine and enjoyed it but also spoke to others who’d had the red and said it was great too. Everyone that stayed in the rooms loved them. Breakfast was also lovely - with a selection of muffins, cereals and pastries plus cooked options made to order. ||There were a few niggles along the way - it didn’t always feel like the most organised in the run up to the wedding day (we felt a bit like we were being an inconvenience asking to confirm details and trying to drop off favours, table and name cards etc. in advance). We were slightly nervous about whether that would carry over into the day itself. It didn’t though and the day did run like clockwork. Neither the bride not I managed to get any of the buffet (none was kept for us - we were told that it was nice though...). We didn’t get any of the wedding cake either. Despite it looking like there was a fair amount left when it was cleared away we later found out that there was none. There were also a few other items that guests felt they’d left in the room at the end of the night but that didn’t get saved.||All in all though, it was a great wedding venue and we were both very glad that we chose it. Jan in particular was really good - as was another younger member of staff (with blonde hair although neither of us caught her name, unfortunately). More...

From the moment they viewed the venue until leaving the day after the wedding they were treated to 5 star service and attention. We stayed here for a Christmas party night and have to say it was really nice. ||||The hotel is easy to find (straight off the motorway but set far enough from the roads to make it feel like you are in the middle of nowhere) with a nice drive down to the stunning hotel. ||||I believe it only has 12 rooms and our group took 7 of them. Every room was big, spacious and offered stunning views over the golf course or rolling countryside. The decor was nice and refreshing that no rooms had a TV (not a problem for our one night stay). A couple of the rooms had floor to ceiling/wall to wall windows which was amazing. Our bathroom was bigger than some hotel rooms we've slept in.||||The party music and DJ were decent enough and the food was great for such a big pass (around 200 guests in total I think - not sure where everyone else was staying).||||The only negatives really were that the building felt really cold - we'd gone down for a few pre-party drinks and sat in one of the side rooms. The room looked great but what would make it so much better would be of they had an open fire on the go - there was fireplace in there but only for show - if it was opened up into a real fire it would make a huge difference. We did also have to wait a while to get our drinks - as everyone was preparing for the party night. ||||All in all a great hotel for the price we paid, would definitely consider booking again for another Xmas party night.
