I'm a Design graduate keen on gaining practical experience everyday. I've worked on projects including greeting card designing/printing/selling, interior design proposals, logo design and much more. What’s your interior design process?
I first need to discuss with the client, going through their vision and offering quick-thinking suggestions. I then go away and gather research and create design proposals. Taking this back to the client, I can begin to move forward putting the space together.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
I wouldn't want to limit myself to a particular one, as I'm always keen on learning about new styles. Basically if the client knows what they're going for, I can give my creative input. If not, I will give suggestion on what may suit a client's taste.
Describe your creative process.
I try to gather inspiration from anywhere and everywhere I can (e.g. my imagination, social media, previous projects, etc.), and make a note of it somewhere. I'm also in deep thought a lot, and like to think up new creations. In addition, I tend to research popular styles and techniques. All that being said, inspiration can randomly hit me at any moment.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
For me, it's preferable to have a personal style choice and colour palette in mind. Visual examples are also helpful, as I process my work more visually than verbally.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the fact that with design and creativity there are no rules - the sky is the limit in terms of imagination. I also love how you can inject your personality into any form of design; however blatant or subtle.
What inspired you to start your own business?
As a person, I am very independent and in that sense, I love running things my own way. I also put a lot of care and effort into each project, making them my own personal task.
