We chose Fence Connections Landscaping for our garden transformation as they immediately understood our vision for the space when we explained & showed our drawing. The team did deliver on this vision overall and we have an amazing garden with lots of functional space as per our design. There are however a number of areas of improvements/issue remaining unaddressed. Communication & Attention to detail – materials would turn up without us being informed, the team would leave early without letting us know because of the heat, the grass was subcontracted to another company who was not very reliable and came days later than planned then had to leave early cause the glue was setting too fast in the heat, time & time again promises were made that the job would finish on time however on the final day of the deadline (jubilee weekend) there was lots still left to do in fact it took another 8 working days. The grass isn’t laid perfectly as you can see the all the edges small bricks were laid and grass glued over it, but then the grano dust sank and its not looking all over even, we were told it’s not something that could be fixed. On the last day of works 14 June, final payment was made and agreement to get in touch for a follow up job to build a plinth for our water feature statue which was meant to be 2 weeks later. I had to chase this up and on that same day I also raised some issues with the attention to detail on the grouting done on the porcelain tiles, asking for this to be corrected. Promises made to check diary. Weeks later we finally get a quote for the plinth to be made – completely unacceptable HIGH figure for something for which we already had the materials, Another 3 weeks pass without any further update from the team, another follow up message with another promise grouting is being ordered and it would get done before mid-August. On 9 August I had to chase again as no follow up, all messages were left unread for days and ignored/no response. Text message sent to Craig who responded they can’t come do the grouting on account of the heat. Well if that’s the case why not proactively contact your customer to inform them of this and arrange a suitable date for when the job can be done. It seems that since the balance was paid in full there’s no desire to come fix any issue raised after the fact. Whilst I am overall pleased with the look of the garden having met our vision, the issues with communication, attention to detail and the lack of follow up plus the tiles not looking perfect due to missing grouting in many areas, I would not hire the team again, which is shame as we wanted to do some work on the front driveway next year.
